How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

Apparently it is a very difficult task for people. They have to write out their names, a brief 'we wil;' ' we will not' attend message and put the little card into to a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope.

My due date was 10/1 and I still have 10 RSVPs unreturned. I am thinking of sending out Christmas cards in Febuary to these people Maybe that will help them get the point!

Just venting!

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

Michele, this happens to every bride. Trust me. You're going to have to call these rude people and see if they're coming.

I wanted to just not put them at a table...but then my FH is right...it will be OUR problem the day of the wedding.

I agree though...and if they're children or they ever get married - trust me...my response card will arrive late!!

I'm venting too...I just paid my bill and 2 people called to say that they decided they can't come...

It amazes me how people can function as adults without knowing basic common courtesy!!!

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I'm in the same boat, Michele. I just can't believe how many responses came in late, or have not come in at all. All they had to do was write their name and check off whether or not they'd attend. Unbelievable.

I'm going to start making calls this week. Look out slackers...frustrated bride-to-be will hunt you down and find you!

I'm wondering how long I can take after the wedding to send thank you's back to these people...

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I had the same rude people Michele but I also gave my response date way early so that helped me out a ton. It also helped that my reception doesn't need to know a final count until 3 days before, not everyone knew that though which was good. We got a ton of responses the week after the due date, hopefully you have some time before it is urgent that you definitely need to know a final count.

Good Luck!

(Going to Burton's tomorrow night to pay my final bill WITH John)....

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I also had my date posted earlier than I need. And I don't give my final count until 10/26 but still just send back the dam card. Emily Post etiquette books for Christmas for everyone!

Maybe they're using the stamp to for something else. I don't get it. We're going to start calling them next week.

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

My husband's father actually used the stamp on his reply card for another letter!
I had more than 50% of the replies missing on our due-date. I don't understand!

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

Some people responded by phone. Some passed the regret on when they ran into someone in the family in the store.

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

We are getting married a month from today and our response date was 10/1. I am still waiting for approximately 8 responses. It would have been more, but I've already made a few calls. What bugs me is the people who are immediate family who haven't yet responded!! Yes, I know that you are coming, but those little cards help me stay organized -- There are so many other small details to worry about - you would think people would realize this.....

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I really just don't understand that. When I get an invitation to a wedding, I respond right away, I don't put it aside and forget about it. I open the invitation, check the date, and respond then and there. What's so difficult?

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I have to say, after waiting for responses upon responses, I would never do that to someone else's wedding we go to in the future! We had a couple that just got married a year before and we still haven't gotten their response but FH called them. They have gone through this when they planned their wedding, they know how important this is, don't they?? People are rude!!!

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

I totally understand the frustration as I went through this a few months ago. The last thing you need during this busy time is this added task of finding out who is coming. It does sound like this happens to everyone. VERY rude!!! Mrstobe, I hear you about putting your headcount in and people saying they cant come afterwards. I also had that. That is even more rude! Hang in there Michele

Re: How hard is it to send back a pre-stamped card?

i know exactly what you mean!!! i had a 9/27 rsvp date and i still am missing about 30 responses....it kills me how inconsiderate people are, not to mention that our work is now doubled because we have to call these people and see if they're coming...as if i don't have enough to do!!!
