A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
So our theme is obvil 'A Perfect Pair'. My girls will be in Vintage Leaf Taffeta dresses. I wanted all white & ivroy flowers, since the Met. Club is so vibrant & rich in jewel- toned colors. I met w/ a florist to day & was trying to pursue me against white/ ivroy for the bp. She said since Olive & White/ Ivroy are all strong colors, my pictures won't come out well, the flowers won't 'pop'
Our CP's are Ivy topiary's w/ gold pears & white/ ivrory eskimo roses in a gold vase.
What color can I use to get a 'pop'? We wanted to use all white/ ivroy for flowers/ napkins table cloths, etc...
Would lavender roses look good with this dress & color? Baby pink? Yellow?

Re: A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
Thanks Meg! I thought the ivroy would 'pop' too
The florist told me other wise.. The lavender, baby pink, & the ivroy are all silk blooms that Vera Wang designed for ftd. com. I think I'm going to go w/ the silks for me & my girls.
As an added bonus they give a bottle of perfume

Thanks Heather, so the ivroy does look good?
The florist kinda bummed me out, when she said that she wouldn't use ivroy, but that was just her.

Re: A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
I am going with a very similar color and am choosing to use ivory flowers for the BMs as well. I think the green and ivory combo looks amazing!

Re: A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
I'm actually thinking of green too, and I think Ivory looks gorgeous with that color, very classy. I would go with your original idea (that's how you envisioned it), and don't listen to the florist's opinions, in fact I'm surprised they even said anything, my florist was just like whatever you want we'll do.

Re: A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
I think that the woman at the flower store doesn't know what shes talking about! because the ivory next to that dress loooks amazing!! and I went to a wedding last summer in those exact colors and it was gorgeous! I just wish I had pictures to show you how great it looked! BUt if you want to add a little color, I would use the light pink, and maybe not have all light pink, but just a couple mixed with the ivory

Re: A busy day wedding planning, question re: color combo:
Mich - I LOVE yellow, light green, ivory, and kelly greens with that dress color. Lemme see if I can find some examples......I wouldn't do lavender, personally...pink might look good.
I htink though, if you have jewel tones in your room, you wouldn't want to use pink. I htink bolder colors might be best....
Lemme search around....
