ANNA AND JOHN HAD A BOUNCING 8lb BABY..............

BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


His name is John Anthony.

I am exhausted to say the least, so I won't make this very long, but Anna was a trooper all day. She slept and rested all night, and once morning came, she was getting contractions... after a few hours of contractions, they gave her Demerall, which knocked her out.

After that, the DR decided to put her on Pitocin, she was in pain for about 4 hours and finally got the epidural. She was 5cm when she got the epidural.

The anesthesiologist, Carolyn, was an absolute DOLL -- I (Anna's sister) was engorged and really needed to pump. After asking 5 different nurses stations and the Emergency Room for a pump to rent, I got discouraged and called my husband telling him to hurry over to Pt Jeff (From Manhattan!!) cuz I needed to pump badly. Well, the anesthesiologist got me a pump from behind the nurse's station, 6 little bottles which I filled to the rim with milk (I was THAT ENGORGED!), she let me sit in her office and check on my kids (use her phone), then she also brought me a new welcome diaper bag so that I had somewhere to store my milk.. and she also got me to use their fridge.

So back to Anna.. when she was finally 8cm, she stayed there for a while and the dr started noticing the baby was in distress, Anna started getting a little temperature, the baby's heartrate dropped at every contraction.. and they waited it out.. and finally decided to go with a c-section.

I was hoping Anna would take it ok cuz I've heard so many moms saddened by the 'disappointment' of going thru a csection after laboring for so long or just not expecting to get one at ALL.. but Anna was in great spirits, very positive, just overwhelmed.

Time to go to the O.R. Carolyn (without me saying one word) goes and tells the Dr that she wants me to be in the O.R. with John and Anna.. I said it was totally ok if I couldn't be there... Carolyn insists that I be there and shut up.. then she kept nudging me to get up and watch the baby's head come out.. to take pictures and to just be wherever I wanted to be (within limits). She was such an angel, I am going to buy her a present for just making my life so much easier by giving me the possibility to PUMP!! GOD BLESS HER!!!!!!!!!!

So John Anthony came bouncing right out, I took plenty of pics which you will all see soon... John and Anna were overWHELMEDDDDDDDD with JOY, both of them crying. I went out to get Johns mom to tell her the news, left John with his SON for about half hour to bond (and he was balling!)..

We made tons of phone calls, finally left Anna alone at about 9pm, went to IHOP and just came home. We are POOPED!!!!!!!

Yipee! I am sooo happy for Anna and John! I predicted a boy on 10/8...pretty close, huh!? Best wishes to Anna for a speedy recovery!!!

Lucy - thank you so much for keeping us informed! You poor thing - 6 full bottles! My boobs are hurting just thinking about how that must have felt!!! Anna is very lucky to have such a loving and dedicated sister by her side! Have fun with your new nephew!

P.S. What town did John grow up in he looks familiar .I think he went to my high school?
