cooking question for the domestic ladies out there...

I had frozen some pork chops and took them out yesterday and put them in the fridge to thaw. I planned on making them tonight, but we have an appointment and will just be going out to grab dinner now. Should I have FH throw them back in the freezer, cook them tonight when I get home and put away for tomorrow night, or just leave them in the fridge and cook them tomorrow- this is what i want to do, but am worried they will spoil.

Re: cooking question for the domestic ladies out there...

In my cooking experience, leave them in the fridge (don't refreeze them!) and cook them no later than Thursday night.

Don't re-freeze them.

You can cook them tomorrow. Just leave them in the fridge.

Re: cooking question for the domestic ladies out there...

Providing they were not originally on the verge when frozen.. they should be fine left in the fridge and cooked tomorrow night.
I wouldnt go any longer.

leave em in the fridge...or what i'd probably do, is take it out of the package, rinse it, season it, then put it in a zip lock bag and leave it in the fridge...that way, the seasonings get a couple of hours to penetrate the meat..

That's what I would do...

Re: cooking question for the domestic ladies out there...

DO NOT RE-FREEZE them. You can leave them in the fridge for tomorrow without any problem.

Re: cooking question for the domestic ladies out there...

i would recommend cooking them when you come home tonight and refrigerating them, that way you can re-heat them tomorrow or the next day - definitely don't re-freeze them!!!
