Photography- ALBUM question
We are working on our albums right now - just picked up the proofs and I would love to scan them in but our scanner is broken and we need to buy a new one. Anyway they came out great- but just wonderng how many pcitures are in your albums. Our photographer initially quoted us at 48 but I love so many of the proofs I want to add 15 more. Is this too many? Also, is anyone doing the custom borderless album. I love it, but am now wondering if I should have gotten a regular insert album too. Thanks.

Re: Photography- ALBUM question
I think it is a matter of taste, I love the borderless albums so we got a couple of our pages like that and we got a majority of our other pages with the the slip in style. We added six extra pages to our album, we were going to have a 40 page album but so many good ones too few pages. Are you doing one pix per page???Maybe you can do a combo album, I do not think 15 is too many. Are you doing any composites??
Happy picking

Re: Photography- ALBUM question
Shamma96-Yes it is one picture per page. So to clarify do you have 40 pages or 40 pics? Thanks for your input.....

Re: Photography- ALBUM question
Our album was 36 pictures. We picked about 45 pictures to go into the album. We did 3 composite pages and then we added 3 pages to the album.150 pictures is a lot of pictures. It will be very hard to pick that many pictures. We had over 300 proofs, and probably could have picked about 60-70 pictures to go into the album. But the photos get redundant. Do you really need pictures of all the bridal parking walking down the aisle and walking into the reception? Do you need to have all the BP couples dancing in the album? Do you need both pictures of vows and rings? It was things like that that we cut back on for our album and how we got it down to 45 pictures. Otherwise it would have cost us a fortune.
And there are always other shots that you can have blown up as opposed to putting them in the album. We chose to do that with a few shots also. Makes for great Christmas presents.

Re: Photography- ALBUM question
OUr album is about 78 pictures, but we originally contracted for about 90 pics in the bridal album. Our pages are bound and the photos are permanently mounted to the page (no slip-ins).
We got the slip-ins for the parent albums. We have three borderless pages in the book, but we didn't see the necessity to pay extra for more.
However, our photographer made many of our photos a full 10x10 instead of 8x10, which makes a difference in how much detail you see in the shot. With 8x10 photos, much of the detail gets cropped out. Just something to think about.

Re: Photography- ALBUM question
I must agree with Vicki, we had originally contracted to have a 40 pg album but we definitely did not want to do one pix per page. There are some pictures that goes well together and tells a story. We did not want too many of the BP in our album. We did 25 composite pages and we added six extra pages. We wanted the album to tell a story and to show a lot of us. We had at most 2 pages with the bridal party and that's it. We had one page with us and both sides of the family, the rest of the album, showed us cutting the cake, us in the garden, me getting ready, a lot of me by myself, some of hubby by himself and all the fun from the reception and the cocktail hour. When you choose the pictures make sure the pix reflect your day.
All the best and happy picking
