New Member - Searching for Places
Hi! I just discoverd this website and it seems fantastic! I am newly engaged (last week), and very excited (and already overwhelmed) about planning my wedding.I have heard several horror stories about certain aspects of weddings (photographers, florists, etc.), so I plan on talking to as many people as possible to hear about their specific experiences with vendors. So I am very excited about finding this website!
I looked at my first location today - Nassau County Museum of Art. It seems lovely, since I would like to have a 'different' wedding location. Has anybody had any experience with weddings at this museum?

if you're wedding is this month I would look right away. You might have to settle being that your date might not be available because it is only a few weeks away.

I am an East Wind bride, I have heard many people who went to EW for a wedding and rave about it. The place is beautiful, very romantic.

I'm biased towards Carlyle on the Green since thats our RH. Check out their site and see what you think...the grounds are absolutely beautiful during the summer months

Re: New Member - Searching for Places
Bourne Mansion is definitely 'different' too. I really like it there, but my parents thought it was 'worn' looking - but that's part of it's historical charm in my opinion. They quote you a very expensive price, but when I said I could not afford it they DRASTICALLY cut their price. Lessings does the catering. If you have an unlimited budget, Oheka Castle is also GORGEOUS. In June, I believe it's a $10,000 site fee plus more than $200 per head.
I've never been to any of these, but I've heard of these other places that seem unique and have a reputaiton for being really nice: Glen Cove Mansion, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Vanderbilt Mansion, Atlantis Marina.
Hope that helps!
