Where would you shop for a dress (not bridal gown)??

Hi ladies! If you needed a dress to wear as a guest at a wedding, and if you were not skinny, where would you go?

My sister (aunt of the bride) still has nothing to wear, she is a 'youthful' size 16. Macy's and Lord & Taylor in Huntington had too many strapless/backless prom-type styles.

Any suggestions where to look? We only have 3 weeks left!

(She's in East Northport area, so preferably Nassau or Suffolk)

It depends on how much you are willing to spend, but I recommend Sugarplum in Lynbrook. They have dresses in every size!!!! They are great.

Re: Where would you shop for a dress (not bridal gown)??

Thanks ladies! I had suggested Estelle's but she is concerned that it's final sale there. But at this point there isn't much time for taking home to think about it some more! So that may be our next stop.

ETA: I love Ann Taylor but I don't think they have many options for her size
