My bach party/shower weekend!! (sorry so long, but w/ lotsa PICS!!)
What a whirlwind weekend!
My bachelorette party- My girls did such an amazing job on saturday night. They put so much time, thought, and expense into this, and I SO appreciate it! I had a BLAST!!!! And they made me feel really special.
Best parts:
-They kept it all a TOTAL surprise!
-Personally delivered note in the AM getting me psyched for party!
-My apartment revamped with beautiful pink flowers, tea lights, ballons everywhere and my pretty lingerie line.
-They cooked me the most delicious dinner for me (sangria drinks, yummy penne vodka pasta, salad, tons of other munchies including penis cake, of coure).
-THE "SLUMBER PARTY" was our pregame!!!  . Check out www.slumberparties.com if you don't know what it is or haven't had one (adult toy/lingerie party). It was SO much fun, highly recommend doing this w/ your friends!!!!! We laughed our asses off (esp when she took out the "heavy artillery"  )! And it wasn't trashy or uncomfortable at all. You get to touch and taste a bunch of stuff. What a really different idea that I didn't see coming at all. 3 hours, tons of giggles, and $$$ later, we had a blast! haha
-Rooftop bar at Coyote afterwards was PERFECT!
-Not lettting my cousin/maid of honor's sister ruin the night!! Woo hoo! (see below)
Not so much:
-That veil I had to wear. Some may know from my prev posts that I HATE wearing a veil. It was flying all over my face. I felt like I was in a bug net. They're just not for me. This really made me feel good about my decision not to wear one on the big day! (JMO. All you guys look amazing w/ them. Just not my thing!)
-The MAJOR DRAMA my cousin/maid of honor's sister pulled on the way to the bar, trying to ruin my night!!!!! She was miserable from the start, deciding that she wasn't going to have a good time. She had a breakup a bit ago and it left her depressed and angry, amongst some other issues. I think she was annoyed by all the romantic talk at the "slumber party." She flipped out on my sister on the way to the bar bc my sis didn't find two parking spots together for her downtown (yea, that doesn't ever happen, you park where you can), so when my sis found one and took it and jokingly yelled out "sorry biatches", well before my sis could say anything else, my cousin apparently took it seriously and peeeled the F out of there and freaked out. My other cousin was gonna get in their back seat and help them find a spot since she knows the area, but they were gone. My sis called her about 20x trying to explain and help, she wouldn't pick up her phone to spite us. She shows up a little while later at the bar, we went up w/o her bc they took forever (another point of tension), and has the horrible angry look on her face and flips out on my sister!! Then when my other sister and everyone isn't feeding into it and giving it attention and theyre like, "let's try to have a good time, this is Jess' bach party," she's all "well I'm glad you can all shrug it off like that!" She comes up to me to tell me "I'm leaving. I'm not having a good time."    My sis tried to tell her, its not really about you. Sorry. I was stunned. I couldn't believe she couldn't just have a good time. Thx for trying to ruin the night! Now my mom and her mom are like sisters so this created a huge thing for two days straight, but I didn't let it get to me (thats the short version, what went down was ridiculous!!)
-My shower was the day after, so I felt a little hellacious. haha But it was okay.
-Creepy dudes making weird comments.

My shower- Everyone did such an amazing job!!! I had such a nice relaxed afternoon.
Best parts:
It was a backyard shower at my grandmother's house. Weather was PERFECT. Everything was in our colors, blue and brown. Loved the lanterns. Butterflies incorporated (loved my canoli cream cake!!). Dean and Deluca chocolate bars favors they personalized. Shower games were so cute. One of my fav pics of me (dress up w/ packing stuff- to look like a wedding gown) incorporated into the day. My maid of honor blew it up and my mom framed it for me to have out at the wedding. Afterwards, we had all the kids playing out back together- my soon to be step son and all my niece and nephews.

Not so much-
Akwardness my cousin created night before lingered into the shower of course and then not saying one word to any of us or apologizing for yelling at my sisters, making a scene, and ditching my bach party before it even started. To be honest, Im just sad she's so miserable in her life right now. I just wanted her to stay w/ me and have a good time.
