Limo tipping question

So, when I booked the limo and explained I was on a super tight budget, vendor helped me out and did not include gratuity on the bill - he said I can take care of the driver that day.

So my question is - does that mean I have to pay the usual gratuity percentage (I think it's 20%?), or tip as I feel appropriate? Cause if I pay the 20% then I wasn't getting a great deal after all cause that's like 200!! But if I just tip the driver as usual that's only like $50 right?

Oppinions?? Not sure what to do.....

Re: Limo tipping question

I wasn't charge gratuity in my limo contract and the women said I can tip the drivers based on their service...so really...whatever I feel like tipping.

Re: Limo tipping question

I tipped each driver $30 they where great. I would have loved to tip more but could only afford so much. They set everyone up at the chuch carried all of our stuff in and out of house and reception hall. They set up the recv. line at the church. Helped to make sure my neices where all buckle in good. They wher early and upgrade us for free so I tipped what I could.

Re: Limo tipping question

There is no set amount to tip. A tip is given for services rendered and should be given at your discretion. Therefore, there is no need for a 20% tip. Give what you can.

You do not have to give an additional tip, but if you receive exceptional service there is no reason you shouldn't. IMO 20% is a huge tip for a person who is basically going to be driving us for a total of 30 minutes out of the four hours.

I totally agree with you! Which is why I was nervous that I was expected to still hand over 20% the day of, since it wasn't included in the contract...... I think I'll just give him a reasonable amount for the service he's providing. It's not even that complicated for us - just picking us up to take pictures, then dropping us off again.

Thanks all!
