UPDATE:: Cooking with DIY gas with pics of our cardbox now!

Posted this under DIY board but figured it fit here too cause we are getting married in 9 days!


LOL Ok so channeling that ever hand phrase of my mom's, I have goten busy today and plan to be busy into this evening and this weekend. I started my DIY and am really happy with them so far.

So far I hav done:

-LOVE letters for the cake table
-guest book that will also double as the story of how we met (the first few pages) for those who do not know.
-BM hair barrettes

I'd done out unity candle awhile ago but have to fix it cause cats go to it :shock:


Still working on:
-cardbox (FFIL took it to paint it and then I have to rub on the design and wind the flowers around the can)
-place cards
-Wedding newsletter
-BM newsletter for final updates
-DAY OF Itinerary because my family likes to run on Puerto Rican time and not EST!

BRIDESMAID GERBER HAIR COMBS:
CHEAP TO MAKE! And sooo easy and really ended up pretty.

Back of the combs:

Tryigng one out (they can slip in pretty much anywhere into any hirstyle becase of the comb.


LOVE LETTERS:
Ok so I TRIED Decorating them in trim like so many girls do; pink and white or orange and white. But I do not have surgeons hands and they ended up retarded. So instead I bougth wood rub ons and sticky jewels and voila! LOL the shakey handed girl's way to gettin' it done!

Our gusest book will also double as the story of how we met (in the first few pages) for those who do not know it. I took a plain black 8x8 scrapbook (5 bucks on sale) and covered it with scrabook papers, stickers and embellishments in our colors.

Thanks to Jkiesel who told me about this planter from AC Moorre which we vought on sale and had a coupon so was CHEAP heh and we painted it and embellished with flower garlands from DOLLARTREE-they were roses but I replaced them with more dollar tree gerbers.

I know none of it looks very traditionally bridal but Fh doesn't care-he knows Im kooky and people who will complain probably woulda compained anyway.

They were sooo cheap and easy to make. I know a few ladies had asked about making their own hairclips from silk flowers. I say go for it becausue honestly the high quality silks look so real these days and the combs cost NOTHING. I think I paid 2 bucks for 6 combs. The gerbers I got from the dollar store because I looked for 'higeher end ones' and gerbers just dont seem to come in high quality silk. So I think i paid 2 bucks for all the flowers! and ahve plenty left over. LOVE the Dollar Tree. I made two extra so my 'honorary BM's' can feel included.

At this point had to lol! UGH Weddings bring out THE WORST in some people and I KNOW I am still going to hear complaints because we wnated 70 but ended with 100 people and the max for the room is 120 but 100 is...REAL cozy lol. The dance floor is tiny and if it rains we cant use the outside area which would allow us more room so PRAY it is sunny! Anyway we have many...'well rounded' people' coming to the party so its going to be quite cramped because we really dont have room for more than 10 person tables with 10 people at em. Originally wwe thought we'd have space to do 8 people at a 10 or 12 person table but nope.

So down to the end people will make noise but I am going to pretend I am deaf unless someone says something I want to hear. LMAO FH says we will set up a coplaint box; a nicely decorated cover four our paper shredder!

Can you imagine that one! Ladies, just remember; as long as you are not auditioning for the show BRidezillas, it is your day, YOUR way.
