Dec Russo's on the Bay bride needs nearby place to take pictures
Hi guys,I'm getting married at Russo's on the Bay in December and though I could take pictures indoors I wanted to know if there are any nearby indoor parks that my photographer and my bridal party can go take pictures. I really want other pictures than besides the piano or within the reception (though it is very lovely inside, I know cuz I've been there during the Xmas season).
Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dec Russo's on the Bay bride needs nearby place to take pictures
I just got married at Russo's 3 weeks ago and our photographer took us to 3 locations in the city...Times Square, the Plaza Hotel site and Colombus Circle. I haven't seen my proofs yet, but I saw albums of other brides who have used the same locations and the pictures came out beautiful. We were able to get all those shots in and still make it to Russo's in time for the cocktail hour.

-how did you get a chance to do that?!!! Go into the city and still make it back for cocktail. I spoke to some photographers and they said it would be impossible. Was it the limo company that you choose to make that possible? Cuz I'm starting to think that I need a jet to make the timing possibly. Please, tell me more

We had a full Mass that started at 2pm and ended at 3. We got to the city around 3:45 and took pictures until approximately 5:15 and made it to Russo's at 6 on the dot, just in time for our cocktail hour. I think it helped that both our photographer/videpgrapher and limo company were great and made it happen for us. We had Riccardo Video Productions (Howard Beach) for photo and video and Romantique for our limousines. It is totally possible to go to the city and then head to Russo's without being late...we were lucky because we didn't have any traffic or bad weather to deal with which might have slowed us down a bit, but even if there would have been some traffic we still would have made it to Russo's in time for our entrance at 7.

You could FM Fall Bride 2008 on the 08 boards, she's getting married there and just met with her photographer to discuss where to take pics.

as far as parks nearby- there's Charles Park (not too scenic), and Forest Park in Forest Hills- but neither really has an indoor area.

Re: Dec Russo's on the Bay bride needs nearby place to take pictures
im getting married there in Novemeber and have the same problem....although it is gorgeous inside i want a little different scenery in the pics. unfortunately there are no indoor locations nearby to take pics. We will definitely be using the outdoor garden there and hopefully a park that is about 15 minutes away (im really praying that the weather holds up!)

Pupidda - Oh now I get it, your ceremony was at a church. I failed to write that I'm having my ceremony at Russo's, so basically if I need something outdoors it would have to be nearby. I'm happy you had the opportunity to do all that. One photogragher told me about something in Nassua and there's an indoor pary somewhere there...something about right off the belt pkwy....or it is cross island pkwy.... sorry, am I making sense....does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Re: Dec Russo's on the Bay bride needs nearby place to take pictures
Hi,I'm getting married at Russos on 2-17-08 and it will be cold as well so a lot of our pictures will be taken inside with the beautiful decor. I was also concerned about taking pictures outside. Russo's said you can take pictures outside in the garden which is on the side of the building. Not that the flowers will be blooming but its still really pretty with the little bridge and all. Also our photographer has told us we can either go to westbury gardens which isn't to far away as well as dumbo, times square and one of the ports in manhatten. ( I forget which one)
I hope this helps you out! :)

Re: Dec Russo's on the Bay bride needs nearby place to take pictures
Thank you so for replying, but are you having your ceremony at Russo's as well? If I was having my ceremony at the church than I can go take pictures anywhere before I go to the reception hall. i've never heard of westbury gardens, but I will definitely check it out. Again thanks.Welcome New Vendors
