Engagement party gifts?

Hi ladies

Hoping you can help me, I have no idea what to get a friend of mine for her engagement party? She did not register anywhere, so I want to know what is an appropriate gift. Any ideas?

Re: Engagement party gifts?

Almost everyone gave us money for ours. If you didn't want to do that you can get them something for the day of the wedding, like their toasting glasses or cake cutter and engrave it.

Re: Engagement party gifts?

We also got mostly money. Some other gifts were bottles of wine, picture frames (lenox, etc) & gift cards. If you don't feel comfortable giving money, a gift card might be good....or even a dinner gift certificate. I bet they are saving money & would love a nice meal out as a gift. HTH

Re: Engagement party gifts?

Money! That’s the reason she hasn’t registered yet…I was told very firmly by a wedding planner that it’s money-present-money… as in money for e-party, present for shower, and money for wedding.

Re: Engagement party gifts?

Those that got money, how much were most of the gifts? $50? $100? $200?

Re: Engagement party gifts?

For my engagement party mostly everyone gave money...it really helps when your paying for the wedding.

HTH

We had about 75 people and wound up with over $5,000. My family is very generious FH ehhh not so much. Usually people gave $75 - $100- but if it's in a place I would give $150

Re: Engagement party gifts?

When I had my engagement party we didn't register hoping that most people would give us money. Some gave money, some gave gift cards to bed, bath, and beyond and some gave picture frames/albums. I would suggest money because it will help them pay for the wedding.

Re: Engagement party gifts?

For my e-party we got $50-$75 for single guests, and on average $125-$150 for couples. Family & close friends gave about $250 per couple
