Count how many households you have on your lists - and then order a few extra.

I sent out 50 invitations and I had ordered 75 invitations.

That depends on how you plan to address them. Do you have a lot of singles? Entire families on one invite? I figured this out by making a list of every guest as I was going to invite them on a separate line, then using the 'line number' function in Word. So, if there's 2 adult siblings still living with their parents, you'd end up with:

1) Mr & Mrs Parent
2) Child 1 and guest
3) Child 2 and guest

Then just look at the last line number.

Also, use the Auto-sort function to alphabetize the list, (you'll need it when you do escort cards) and you can put the line number on the RSVP in case it comes back without a name.

Edit: Look at the last line number and then add 10 or 25 or whatever denomination they come in. I haven't used the extra pocketfolds, but I had to break in to the second set of envelopes.

We have a lot of families and are addressing them to each household.

Count up all the households. Then, I would recommend ordering about 10-15% more. You want to have some extras for late additions to the guest list, for you to save, etc.

In that case, you'd have 1 line, but it would work as follows

1) The Smith Family

The inner envelope would be Mr. & Mrs., Child 1 & guest, Child 2 & guest, Younger Children.

Sometimes it's just easier to send 2!

WE are leaving the number of guests open

so if we send it to one household....its fine if they put 5

not exact guests.

We are sending out 70 invites and we ordered 100 of them. It's MUCH cheaper to order that number now than need more because of typos or something...

We also put on the RSVP card -

________Number of Adults
________Number of Children

I would suggest ordering an extre 25 or so just to be safe. You can count the households. I had mine done on the knot.com from before I joined LIW and it tallys the # of invites you need based on your guestlist.
