Veil and hairstyle question

I recently ordered my tiara and I was hoping to wear my hair half up with it. My question is, do I then have to wear the veil on the top of my head (just below the tiara) or is it still possible to wear it at the back of my head. I love the way it looks in the back with an updo and I think that that would be better since I want to leave it on all night, but I don't feel comfortable with my hair all up in an updo. Also, if the veil is in the back, where do you attach the blusher. Mine is removable. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will half up still be possible? If not, then I think I am wasting my time trying to grow my hair. It's too long already! Thanks!

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

I don't know where they would put the veil in the back if your hair was half up. Take a look at the hairstyle thread, there is a pic of Jennifer Aniston and her hair is 1/2 up. Go for a trial and have them play with the veil in different positions.

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

If you didnt have a tiara you could probably put the veil at the back of the crown of yoru head...but with a tiara there is going to be a big gap so i dont think its going to look right.

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

Okay - I am going to try and describe something here because I have seen this work and it looked great!

My MOH did this at her wedding... Picture the tiara centered on your head and then the veil attached to the ends of the tiara. So, the veil is at the back of your head and there is room for your hair to be half up... But, the veil will be attached so that you are not getting what Stef describes..

Hope that makes sense!

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

I am wearing my hair half up and half down and the veil looks much better toward the back so that is where I am wearing it!! If you get the right hair stylist they will know how to help you and get the right look!! Good luck

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

I guess it depends on what style of half up/down you are having. If you are having something with curls and stuff on top then you can definitely seperate the tiara and veil with the hair in between. But if you want something more sleek/straight (like what Angie Harmon did on her wedding) then they need to be together. Hope that makes sense.

Post a pic of the hair you want and they we can help better.

Re: Veil and hairstyle question

Thanks everyone for your help. The hairstyle that I'm thinking of is similar to the one that Stef described, with the curls. I definitely don't want something very sleek and straight. I have very thin hair and I feel bald when I style it like that! I wish I had a picture. I'll check out the hairstyle thread. Maybe there's one there.

Veil and Hairstyle

Or this one: (By the way that was my first time posting an image. I'm so proud of myself!!!)

I don't know why that one didn't work. But I think you can get the idea from the first one. Otherwise, if I wear my hair all up, will it look bad with a lot of tendrils around my face and in the back? I just feel that my face cannot carry my hair all slicked back.

Re: Veil and Hairstyle

I'm doing something similar and it looked okay at the trial. I'm using this pic as a reference for the back, but I will have almost a bun effect higher up on my head. The front will be similar to your pic.
