I have to change my wedding date!!!!

Due to pure human error. FH is a cop, so we plotted out his days off (and his squad's) according to what we thought the PBA calendar was going to say for 2003 b/c we did not have a PBA calendar at the time. FH went back yesterday and replotted the days and we discovered that I was totally wrong! Off by three days! What this means is that a good 20 of our guests (and his closest friends) would not be able to come on 8/9...so we called all of our vendors in a hurry and thankfully, every single one of them is available for our proposed new date of 9/6/03! I almost feel like seredipity is on our side and this change was meant to be, given that all of our vendors are totally fine with the change. We are waiting to hear from the church, though.....ACK! Anyone else every had to do this?

Oh, you poor thing! What a hassle. I'm glad for you that everything seems to be falling into place, though. I will keep my fingers crossed regarding the church!

Yup, we did. The Air Force wouldn't allow him to get married. So, three weeks before we had to postpone and then we waited the entire summer and one three weeks notice had to put everything back in order. Our vendors were amazing! The day was amazing. We lost some guests but gained others that coudln't make the first date.. We also learned who really cared and who didn't..
We were lower then our count though and had to pay for some empty seats.


But its worth it all!

The only pain was reengaraving our rings we have 07-05-02 in them and well we got married 09-27-02 but luckily they did them for free.
And when we called Chase invites they reprinted our invite with the new date for like 70 % off and had them to our house by 24 hours. Since they just had to change the date.

But we needed invites redone (because I wanted for the video and album) and for out of town family and we just did a phone rsvp because we sent them out 3 weeks before the date.

I am so glad it worked out for you. We were in a situation too where my husband was inviting 30 plus cops from work. We never thought to try to make it so everyone was off with the days, but as it turned out his old squad he was in, they had weekends off that weekend All other friends for his work moved on and are in different depts so it all worked out! Yeah - keep your fingers crossed for the church to be allright with the 6th! The priest hasn't given us a hard time yet, but you never know. This also gives us one more month of saving too

I'm glad everythng worked out for you. I know how you feel about the cop thing and the days off. My FH was an NYPD cop who just left a few months ago for Port Authority. Keeping up with the days off is a pain in the @ss

that was my date this year! great weather - i couldn't have asked for a better day! 78 degrees & sunny. it was just perfect! good luck!

That's my b-day - the weather should be good- it always seems to be a great weather for some reason. I'm glad to hear you were able to work everything out
