On the topic of B list guests......

My fh requested that I post this question on the board. Since all of you are out partying at Umbertos I know I will have to wait until morning for a response lol. He has someone at work who he now wants to invite to the wedding. Our wedding is Dec. 7th and the responses were due on the 7th of November, so yes this is a bit late. I have no idea why my fh just decided to invite him but I have given up understanding what goes on in the mind of my groom. He wants to know what the best way is to invite this person. Does he go up to him at work and say I would like to invite you, here is the invitation or what???? Thanks for your assistance as always!!!!

Re: On the topic of B list guests......

Well, why doesnt he just put the complete invitation on his co-workers desk?

The response is 11/7 so the co-worker will obviously know he is a B-list. But men tend not to care (or barely even notice) these things as much as women do.
So if your FI really wants to invite him now, why not? If he wants to explain the whole B-list thing, then he can hand it to him, with some sort of explanation, it all depends on how comfortable he'll be.

Hope this helps

Re: On the topic of B list guests......

I would say verbal invitation with the formal invitation at hand for the address/time info... I would exclude the RSVP card completely and ask for a verbal answer in a week or two.

Re: On the topic of B list guests......

When my mother got married, there was a death in a family, and a number of people were not going to be able to make it to the wedding. It was all last minute, but she invited her co-workers explaining that they couldn't invite them initially with the number of family members. They all came and had a great time, and there were no hard feelings.

I would give him an invitation, and explain how you would really like him to be there......

I don't think he will be offended at all.

Hope this helps.
