How to save as a PDF ???

I tried having my menus printed at Staples, but the font came out all wrong and they said its because I sent it as a JPEG instead of a PDF...



I don't see an option to save something as a PDF....can anyone please help?!?!

you need to have Adobe Acrobat, not just Acrobat reader, to save to a PDF. i believe there are a few places online that you can save to and they will convert the file to a PDF for you, but i'm not 100% sure.

Thanks girls!! I just realized staples has a file converter!

So, I was able to do it myself! Hopefully it works this time- those menus sure looked ugly with big huge block letters

I'm glad they had a converter for you!

in the future if you need to convert something you can download the cute PDF writer for free

you install it on your machine as a printer and then print to it - it will save your file as a PDF document.

I use this all the time for AutoCAD files - for some reason the adobe PDF driver and AutoCAD don't get along very well.

but won't the machine opening the document still need to have the fonts installed in order to view the PDF? I've seen that be the case sometimes. Maybe just save it as a JPG or GIF?

Thats what I did the first time and it didn't work.


OK- I tried to download the Staples thing but it said it failed adding it as a printer and I don't know how to do that manually....


I'll try Nina's....but I may need to FM you ladies again...

What a pain- this was supposed to be the easy way out!

PDF's when saved correctly embedd the fonts so that they are not needed. pdf's also give you the highest quality (when saved correctly) then any jpg file especially with text.

Typically if your working out of any program you can go to your save as or export as on your drop down menu and save it that way. Another way is if you have a pdf driver installed in your print menu. When you go to print see if you can select pdf or ps.

Try to save things as CMYK or (grayscale if there is no color), Press Ready or Highest quality with fonts embedded.
