This is probably a stupid question, but can you use any toothpaste? like can you use a gel, or should it be a paste? does it matter?

I dont have an answer to that question, but knowing me... I'd try anything
Go for it... diamonds are tough... nothing is going to wreck them ... and BTW, I have found that windex is the best to shine it up... if you want to actually clean it, I would do the old boiling in detergent trick

I have only limited myself to going to the jewelers but I need to have a home base solution to use because I don't always feel like taking the trip the jewelry store.

Re: Im sure this question has been asked a million times
Get a sonic jewelery cleaner they are only $15 and you put dawn dish soap in it for about a half hour and it comes out BRAND NEW! Also everyday i used a toothbrush with dawn dish soap and scrub it. it comes out great. And if you really want to get crazy like me lol i bought a jewelery steamer and i use that a few times a month. that cost about $75 but well worth it!

Re: Im sure this question has been asked a million times
I have yet to clean my ring but, I use jewlery cleaner on all my other jewlery. Just a word of caution..... If you get it cleaned alot by the jewler and have them steam it the diamond will start to loosen. Be very careful it has happened to a few people I know. I would do toothpaste or the jewlery cleaner.

How long does it take for it to start looking not as shiny? I've had mine only a week and a half and it's still as clean and sparkly as the day I got it. When did you all notice it getting dirty?
