Re: Any good places in Manhattan to look for headpieces
metropolitan implex has a lot of tiaras, on 6th ave b/w 35 and 36, there also a few more shops along 6th ave that have those things. Paul's on 38th st, b/w 5th and 6th, also has headpieces, but some he makes himself and some he orders. I didn't like his handmade pins, but he gave me an idea of how to make my own. I don't think Paul's prices for hair pins were cheap, rather they were pretty comparable to the online/bridal stores. There are also some glove places around 29th and broadway and 6th ave.

Hey jenn- thanks for the plug in your post! I too highly recommend C&H. I had a great experience with them (just don't be turned off by the way the shop looks on the outside..she does great work!). There are actually a couple of other places on that block and there are a few others around the corner from Lord & Taylor (not sure the street).jennbaby-I am so exicted for you. tell them hello from me when you pick yours up!!!

Re: Any good places in Manhattan to look for headpieces
I work in Midtown, so I am going to head over to C&H in January. Is it hard to pick out the headpiece and veil without the dress? I have a pic, but it does not really do the dress justice- the dress is a bit sparkly on top, and I dont want to overdo it with the tiara (think disco ball nightmare
). How did you pick out your headpiece without the dress there?

Re: Any good places in Manhattan to look for headpieces
I had some kind of idea what I wanted (well I wanted something simple and sparkly) and I brought a picture of the dress with me.I just tried on a whole bunch until I found one I really liked an denvisioned would look good iwth my dress. The woman in the store also helped me. She will also customize things. For example, I had the headpiece made with ivory pearls rather than white pearls.
For my veils (cathedral and fingertip) and headpiece I paid a little less than $300.
