Does anyone bleach their hair blonde?

I need some advice....

I have been going for 4 years now to the same girl and she really screwed me over. So I never went back to her.

So I went to someone else and when she touched up my roots the first time it looked good. Now when she did it at Thanksgiving time it seems as if it has a tint of straberry blonde.. I don;t like it..

I have to make an appt to see her on Mon.

What do I tell her?

See if you can find the color you want in a magazine and show her. Tell her its redish and you don't want that color.

I used to get my hair bleached blonde (double process) at Anthony DeFranco Salon in Huntington. I highly recommend them!!!!

Just say something to your colorist. She should be willing & able to do something about it.

I called my girl and she said well I don't like to bleach the roots. .I said LOOK.. I don't care if you like to.. Do it so I like the way it looks ITS my hair!

I don't understand why she would say that. They're supposed to touch up the roots all the time. I try to do mine every 6 weeks.

She says she doesn't DP the roots.. She colors them and then highlights on top.

So I have the blonde on blonde look..

What do you think?

If you don't like how it is coming out, then I hate to say this, pick another colorist. Even if she doesn't bleach roots or whatever, she should be capable of touching up the roots so that it's all the color you want.

I have a great colorist but he's in mahattan, let me know of you are interested.

I hope they are not using actual bleach. That is incredibly damaging to your hair - to the point where it could fall out. This happened to someone I know who didn't know that their colorist was using bleach on their hair. She thought it was just a coloring process. It wasn't until she had her hair done for a professional photography shoot that the hair stylist told her to stop getting her hair done and to let it rest for at least a year. Otherwise her hair was going to fall out. Her hair was starting to look like straw!

No..I am not having that problem. I have so much hair and its very healthy........

I want it to be less strawberry and more golden with plat highlighs!!!!

Theresa, I'm a hairdresser. If your hair is very dark naturally, bleach maybe the only way to pull it up to a blond color. All dark hair has a natural red pigment to it and that would cause it to come up Strawberry. If she doesn't want to bleach your roots, she may want to add extra highlights to take away the reddish color. Or she could add a toner to it but that may darken it a bit. I really couldn't give you better advice without seeing it first. She should be using a straight ash color to lighten your roots in the first place. If she did do this, and it still came up strawberry, than you might need the Double process w/ bleach to get the desired blond.

I don't get my hair colored/bleached anymore, but when I did, I went to Jenn (I believe her last name is Johnn). I get my hair cut somewhere else. The ironic thing is my stylist used to work with Jenn!
