I went to a bachelorette party that had a sommelier do wine tasting with us. He was the sommelier (wine expert) from a restaurant. I think we paid him 50 bucks each and he brought the wine and explained each one to us. My advice is maybe going to a local restaurant that has an extensive wine selection, ask who their wine expert is and see if they are able to host a party. Also, there are 'wine party' packages you can buy at like red envelope.com. HTH!

we just threw one the other night. we asked each of our friends to bring one bottle of cabernet. i had a kit bought off amazon for like 25 bucks. and basically we just went through each bottle (in price order) and read from the book. we poured a bit from one bottle, finished drinking/tasting, then rinsed it out for the next bottle and so on. it was fun and hilarious as the night went on. after the wine tasting was over, we finished off the bottles that we started with.

the kit came with a sheet that lists all the flavorrs you could possibly taste int he wine so you can circle as you taste. they also came with wine covers so you can do the blind tasting as well. but we were too drunk afterwards to do this.
