Where are you getting dressed?

If you arent getting married in a church and have the oppertunity to get dressed at the place where you are getting married (I do)... would you or would you get dressed somewhere else (like home)???

I personally would NOT get dressed at the place Im getting married, I think I like the idea of walking in 100 % dressed and beautiful.

Although there's nothing wrong w/that, I know a couple brides that have done so when their wedding is at a hotel.

I'm getting married at home. With some family there and my bridal party.

I like the idea of getting dressed at home. It's your space and you have everything you need right there. I would be afraid of packing to get dressed at the place, get there, and then realize I forgot my pantyhose or bra or something.

I was having a tough time deciding that also. I am having my ceremony at the hall, but I am going to get dressed at my brother's house. I am having major renovations done at my house and it definitely won't be looking to good for photos. I just felt that if I got dressed at the hall, I might forget something and then have to send someone to get me what I needed. I don't want to have that stress.

I am getting dressed @ home! It just seems 'right!'
I understand for couples getting married @ the place why they would though. I have lived in the same house all my life so it only seems natural to me, but I know that not everyone is in that same position.

I haven't decided where yet, but probably my home, I think getting dressed in hotel with close family and bridal party is also nice.

I am getting dressed at Danford's (our hotel and also where we are spending our wedding night and me the night before with my bridal party). We got a huge 2 BR, 2 bath suite that sleeps 8, complete with a little living room and fireplace where the hair and makeup people can come do their thing. I'm from Texas and my mom lives down there so getting married at my Mom's house wasn't an option.

I'm getting dressed in the bridal suite in my hotel...I had really wanted to get dressed at home, but being that I'm getting married on a Saturday, and both my rehearsal dinner the night before and my church are in NYC, the last thing I wanted was to be getting caught in traffic the day of..

My mom's house (which i still live in) is kinda crowded with stuff and lots of dogs, I think I am gonna rent a hotel room to get ready.

I got dressed at my parent's home and it was really nice. You should get ready in a place that you are comfortable.
The problem with getting ready in the Church or ceremony site is a) you need to transport everything you need THAT day. b) you need to clean up the area before you leave c) you have to arrange for all of your stuff to get back home

I was able to bring stuff to my Mom's over a few days so I didn't feel rushed that morning and I didn't forget something important. I left my stuff at her place until after I came home from my honeymoon. I wasn't trying to figure out how to get my clothes, dress bag, etc...back to my place.
Just something to think about.
