Finally Booked my Photographer and Videographer, Now have to book the band
Well we looked at a number of photographers and videographers and finally booked both today.
We booked Steve at Patken, and Wild Rose Video!!!
I am sooooo excited now!!!!!
Now we just have to decide on our band!

We checked out Times Square Orchestra, which is our first choice so far, we heard Naked Truth (a group my reception hall recommended) - they were very good just not what we were looking for - more appropriate for a 60 wedding anniversary (low key), Full House and John Marshall Band (also recommended by my reception place) TSO, FH, and JMB are all the same price but we have not heard the last two live. I'm waiting to receive a video from JMB to see if I'm even interested.
I am open to any suggestions. I tried to contact a number of bands but they never got back to me with price quotes or information about their groups. I was hoping that FH would be able to hear the band we were interested in live but he returns to Michigan the beginning of Jan before anyone showcases again. It will be hard for me to make showcases as well when I start school again because I'm taking night classes and will not get out until late M-TH nights.

Times Sqaure played at my sisters wedding in June....My god they were fantastic! They have great voices and VERY lively. I also noticed that they did not take many breaks! We were on the dance floor all night long with them!

You should check out some of the bands from Franklin Wayne Music. There are a number of bands and they are all good.

Congratulations! Doesn't feel great to get these vendors booked? I've heard good things about Patken and Wild Rose-you should be very confident in your decision.
We used Arcadia at our wedding last month-and were very, very happy. They are one of the bands managed by Long Island Paramount. Check out their web page and go see them at a showcase. There are lots of great bands out there!

My FI is actually in the booking the band mode..every other day I'm getting demo tapes and videos and CD's sort of funny to watch and listen to them:

Jeff Lubin Band with Hank Lane
Steven Scott
Elite
Stan Weist
All I can say is that they are all different, they are all over 5k for 6 pieces or more.

I booked Wild Rose also. I have to give Jennbaby credit for that, I booked them from out of town and without ever meeting them in person. Marie is so nice and I feel very confident that I did the right thing. They sure do book up fast though, I made it by the skin of my teeth.

Let me reco. Ken James. We are using them--- they are awesome, but very expensive. My friends are using Jeff Allen from Hank Lane and Steven Scott Orchestras. Highly recommended and a little less expensive.

I was interested in a number of bands you all listed but my FH and I called and emailed them to get info a number of times and a number of them never responded - so it makes us a little hesitant to book someone who does not respond to phone calls or email (some of these were originally sent 3 weeks ago).
We are leaning to Times Square unless we like one of the bands we are waiting to hear from better.

We used Full House for our wedding in August - and have nothing but rave reviews for them. Everyone was asking us where we found them. They have a website at www.fullhousemusic.com where you can hear clips of how they play. They also have a schedule up there so you can go see them in various bars/clubs around the Island.

My girlfriend had Times Square at her wedding over the summer and they were really great. If you really like them, you should probably try to see them again. My friend went around the wedding band circle and came back to them. Be careful of videos. It is better to see them live. I can tell you that they played all night long at her wedding and I couldn't even tell when they took a break. She is going to see them on New Year's Eve. I am hoping that they are available for my wedding, but so far, we haven't set a date. I live in CA and have been making plans long distance. Kinda crazy trying to figure it all out without our date because everyone has to know that before we can book any vendors. I figured this website would be a good way to get started. Good Luck to you!

We are using Midnight Magic Orchestra. We checked out lots of bands and found them to be priced right and musically very very talented. They don't play the typical "Wedding Music"
