Thank you to everyone on this site. Many of you have given me so many ideas by sharing your wedding and planning details. I have enjoyed reading all of your stories and comments. There have been many times when the planning was stressful but having all of you to relate to made it better. Quite often your stories or Wedding photos had put a smile on my face. Thank You. I hope that I can do the same for someone new.
This was the best day of my life. My husband and I just laughed, danced and cried the whole night!!! We really just enjoyed every moment and didn’t let anything get in our way. You don’t even care about the things that go wrong( and there will be things that will happen). But trust me your day will be perfect just b/c it’s about the 2 of you!
Pictures in Bio
Yale Club NYC- A+ Everything about this place from the food, ambience, décor, and service was wonderful. The Staff was so friendly and attentive to all our guests. Their food is great and all our guest were raving about the cocktail hour. They had everything from dim sum, pasta station, ny stripsteak station, lobster rolls, baby lamb chops and etc. The ballroom there is beautiful and we had cocktail hour on their rooftop lounge which had views of NYC. My Banquet Manager, Dari was on top of everything that evening. She stayed till at the wedding till the end f the night. She coordinated with out band, photographer, and florist. She arranged our Rehearsal that same day. I couldn’t have picked a better place
Glenmar- A We had two Photographers, Tom and Laura. They did a great job and they both had different styles. We wanted both traditional and photojournalism. Their videographer was very good too. We took pictures in the Yale Club, on the street, in Grand Central and then we rented an Original Yellow Cab.
Spitz and Peck – B In the end everything was beautiful. I loved my bouquet it was one of my favorite things….they took orchids and hand strung each of them to make a cascading bouquet. The flower arrangements looked great…but they added colors to the centerpieces that were not originally suppose to be in the arrangements. I had chosen just the color red, and 3 shades of pink. They must of ran out of flowers…b/c a few of the centerpieces had burgundy and white roses in them, while the other half didn’t. They also stuck 2 centerpieces in the far corners, that looked like they were half empty..(like there were no more flowers to finish them) Also, originally I gave them a picture of what I wanted which was originally all peaches and cream flowers. When I went to go see that sample it was horrible and instead of a pale peach.,. they used a salmon orange color. Then I decided that they didn’t understand the design in my picture and changed it to red and pinks. They are def, pricey….and you really should get more for what they charge. They were one of our required vendors…so we kinda had no choice.
Anne DeMarco- A+ Anne does an amazing job with makeup. She made myself and family look gorgeous. When Anne did the airbrushing it looked flawless and matched perfectly, My skin looked like it was glowing . She is a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. She has a great salon in the city where she will host Makeup parties too.!! I wanted to throw one with my friends there.
Roseanna Amador- A+ I love what this women can do with HAIR!!!! She has me now addicted to Hair Extensions, I bought from her blonde hair extensions that match my hair perfectly. She arrived early on the day of my wedding and did her magic. LOVED WHAT SHE DID
CTO Manhattan- A+ This band made the night, They had everyone dancing the entire night! The played everything from hava nagilla, to Justin Timberlake and Rhianna, then Earth Wind and Fire and Stevie Wonder, It was a music selection that every age could dance along to. I gave a suggested song list…and the sang all of them the last 2 hours of the night. They are a 14 piece band based in Philadelphia…but they travel a lot to NY. They are def worth checking out and they have another office here in NYC. You will not be disappointed! Everyone thought they were the best band ever,
Calligraphy by Michelle- A+ She was a favorite vendor to work with. She is such a sweetheart and always was prompt with everything. My invitations looked great with her work. The place cards she did in one day and then sent them back to me. She is very affordable.
DreamyOccasions.com- A+ I ordered my invitations from her. This is an online site but she also has an office in queens. I had beautiful custom invitations made and she gave me a great price on them, She was reliable and very honest with her opinion. She would tell me not to waste money on certain things and was always looking out for us.
Rose Bridal- A+ I went to this salon I found on West 39th Street after randomly passsing by it one day on the street. She sells tons of veils and tiaras at a reasonable cost. I wanted a lace veil but did not want to spend the fortune that the bridal salons were asking! She made me a beautiful lace veil to match my dress at a GREAT PRICE. Very pleased with her work
Bridal Reflections- F They were the worst experience EVER!!!!!!!!! This was a nightmare since the day my dress arrived. I originally bought my dress in the Carle Place location and the manager, Christina, measured me for what size to order. When the dress came in it was too small….despite the fact that I had lost 10 pounds from the day that she measured me. Now for the alterations they had me going to the Manhattan location so it was easier for me. They had to let out this dress on 2 separate fitting. It then ended up being to big in my waste and then the material of the lace and dress started to have creases and bunches from poor sewing all in the hip area ( where the dress was not properly lined up at the seams). This went on for another 5 fittings….the material of my lace was starting to be stretched and looking dirty. Finally they Said everything was ok..and had make a few minor changes over 2 last fittings the week of the wedding and then I could pick it up the day of my wedding. Well the story gets worst. When I went on Friday the DAY BEFORE my Wedding to pick up my dress and try it on before being pressed….IT WAS TERRIBLE> They had now added boning all the way down to my thighs in 3 areas in the dress to get rid of the bunching In the hip. However, all the gathering and bunched material was not pushed up to the whole TOP of the dress, The was a stain on my gown…,,My swavorski crystal belt that they reattached was completely slanted…,one side was about an 1 and a half higher than the other side. The seamstress now had to on the SPOT of the night before my wedding,.,.,take out this boning in the dress..,.fix the bunching which was now I the top half…and remove and replace the belt. The whole time the staff ad seamstress are not very helful or nice.. The seamstress goes on to tell me that “eve of Milady” didn’t really make a good quality dress and that is why this happened. She also gave me an attitude and said well you were bloated for one fitting and that made this worse…. OK>>I AM A WOMEN AND JUST About every women gets bloated,, ( that was a sad excuse) Needless to say I spent the entire day and night before my wedding in this salon for 5 and a ½ hours till the dress was fixed. I never once got an apology. I even said to the manager on the phone..,,” that do you realize this is the night before my wedding at 8pm….and you kept me here when I should be relaxing and be stress FREE. They were a Bad experience., I loved my dress but the really did do a number on it…and by the time it was the wedding day the material and lace was def not the same quality anymore. Also the belt was never in the right spot and my bustle broke in 2 different areas….so the dress was dragging after the ceremony
Honeymoon in Thailand!!!- A++ We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon. It was a once in a lifetime experience, We started off in Bangkok- where we stayed at the Oriental Hotel. The hotel is amazing!!!!! The truly have the best service...The remember your name and will greet you everytime you are seen throughout their hotel. They have their famous tea room which is a great afternoon experience. We saw the Palace, many temples, and did a lot of shopping. They are famous for the tailors..who can custom make just about any article of clothing in 24-48 hours. We bought tons of new clothes.
Then we flew to Chiang Mai- where we stayed at the Four Seasons. ( This hotel was my favorite) The property is gorgeous..set in the mountains on their rice fields. This was a resort where you never really had to leave. They have what is rated the #1 Spa in the world. We had to pamper ourselves one day : ) We left one day and went to the Elephant camps where we were able to feed and ride the Elephants, also saw monkeys and could feed them too., We took canal rides.
Then we finished up the last week at the Beach Area , in Phuket. We stayed at the Phuket Pavillions...which was nice...( not that clean thought) But we had our own private pool and pation in our villa.! ( def took advantage of the that : ). The beach is incredible that water is always so warm and very blue,.!!!! We took a day trip to Phi Phi Islands.,,where the movie
"the Beach" was filmed and we snorkeled there. Then we took sea kayaking tours through these caves in the middle of the ocean. It was wild...def one of the most exciting things I have done in my life.
Overall. People in thailand are so friendly., The cost of goods, food and service is VERY affordable. You could get an hour massage on the beach everyday.,,,for $10. They are known for their Thai massages.
If you are looking for a little bit of everything from resting in the countryside, to a little sightseeing & adventure,,, and then being on the beach ... well then....THIS HONEYMOON would be for you,.
