Taking Pics before the Wedding?

Can anyone give some advice about taking pictures at a park or something before the wedding? We don't have a lot of time at the RH and I want to get some good pictures at a state park or something like that. The problem is getting the bridal party from hair and makeup to the photos and then to the reception so that their cars wind up at the RH. If anyone has done this with ease, any advice would be helpful!

Re: Taking Pics before the Wedding?

what about the barnyard cutting arboteum? (i probably completely spelled that wrong)

they let you do pics there--you have to get a permit and such, but its common.

and there's always old westbury gardens.

Re: Taking Pics before the Wedding?

However they would have gotten from your house or wherever you're all meeting beforehand to the RH or wherever the ceremony is.....however you were arranging for them to get between those two spots, just start earlier.

Barnyard!!!!!!!! It's Bayard Cutting Arb.!!! That is hysterical Melissa!!
Yes you do need a permit. Only one bride per day, I think you have to pay per car load as well.

Bayard Cutting

Haha

actually we did look at Bayard cutting and we liked it a lot. I'm more concerned about getting from one place to another with the bridal party and all our parents and probably our grandparents! Do you think we should just have enough room in the limos for everyone or can people drive in their formal wear. From Bayard Cutting to the Riviera is about 30 mins or so and from my mom's house twice that!

I think you should provide transportation for them. I wouldn't ask my BP to drive 30 min from the place to take pictures for me in addition to getting to the place where we have to be to get ready. If I want them someplace to take pictures after they're all dressed and ready then it's my responsibility to get them there. Hope that helps.

Re: Taking Pics before the Wedding?

If the people in your BP have significant others then getting their cars to your RH shouldnt be a problem, you just set up a limo to get you from where you are getting ready to pictures etc.

Re: Taking Pics before the Wedding?

We asked the girls to sleep over our house the night before, so we all got ready together. The guys met us at our house, where the limo picked everyone up. Their dates and significant others met us at the restaurant (they found their own way of getting there)
It worked out well, and we got hours of photos.

Also, we had a photo shoot a few months before the wedding, for just the 2 of us, on the day of the trial. That was great and stress-free.
