Beach ceremony near Atlantica?

Hello fellow brides! Anyone know of a beach I can have a 120-person ceremony near Atlantica? Atlantica is a beautiful venue in Westhampton Beach. It's virtually the perfect wedding I've dreamed of - except that I want an actual beach ceremony on sand. The ceremony provided by Atlantica is on a deck with the dunes as the backdrop. I was hoping for sand and crashing waves as the backdrop . I drove a ways down on Dune Road and found Cupsogue Beach - does anyone know what the rules/regulations are for having a ceremony there? My fiance and I are Nassau county residents, but the majority of our family is in Suffolk county. Will this make a difference?

Any info is greatly appreciated! Also, any info on nearby beaches would be great!!

Re: Beach ceremony near Atlantica?

You might have to be a member, but you should call 'Surf Club' on Dune Road in Quogue....I know they've done weddings right on th beach, but not sure if it was just for members or not....

Re: Beach ceremony near Atlantica?

as far as i know, cupsogue is a state beach, which means you have to get a permit from the parks department. i'm trying to do mine @ robert moses--roughly the same head count--and while i was surprised at how okay they were w/ the number of people & the fact that i want to rent chairs, the music & parking are a little sticky. robert moses doesn't allow ANY 'sound amplification' before 8pm, and they charge parking until 6pm, which can just become an organizational mess since there's no way to pay a group fee for your event (many couple just leave envelopes full of cash w/ the person in the booth to take from as guests arrive. my advice is to call them and see what their stipulations are over there. HTH!

Re: Beach ceremony near Atlantica?

I used to live in West Westhampton in the summer -- The surf club may have changed, but years ago, it was a 'party like a college kid rock star' kind of place -- drinking beer out of plastic cups, etc. It was fun, but I don't know if they'd do weddings, unless it was really early in the morning. The public beaches in West Hampton get packed in the summer, I don't know if that would be ideal for you, even if you did get a permit, there would be people everywhere around you.
I have a friend getting married at Atlantica, it is beautiful!
Good luck!

You are thinking of Surf Club the bar, Beach Bum is talking about the actual beach club on the beach.

I've lived out east my whole life (and I'm getting married at Atlantica!) Here are my suggestions:
1. LaRonde Beach Club in Westhampton Beach - it is private, but I think you can still have a ceremony there and reception.
2. Ponquogue Beach (Southampton Town beach) with the reception across the street at Oaklands. It's gorgeous there and 120 is prob a perfect #. OR for a more casual ceremony in Hampton Bays, Top of the Wharf. We went to a beach wedding at Ponquogue and then Top of the Wharf...it was great
3. Rogers Beach (Westhampton Beach Village)

Anytime after like 5 the beach will be somewhat cleared out...and if not, it's still pretty freakin cool.

FM me for any more details. I know alot about the beaches and contacts and such.
