Baby shower ideas... (a lil drama)

ok, so my brother & sil had a baby 2 weeks ago and i went crazy last oct. getting a shower together for them (dec. 07) since her family hasn't even tried to help. weird.

anyway, i was about to send the invites out and they told me that they couldn't come to ny that weekend it was planned b/c she wouldn't take the day off.

so now the baby is here and my mom and i have bought EVErYTHING the baby needed (like big items) and gave them already. Now they still want me to throw the shower. I refuse to have it in the restaurant like originally planned b/c I think they are unrealiable and unappreciative. So now it will be at my house which is great for entertaining.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH IDEAS FOR having it at home. it will be on a sunday afternoon (actually the day after my bridal shower). I might just have it somewhere simple afterall at bertuccis b/c getting my house ready will be annoying and i feel like people never leave!

What was the best baby shower you've been to?

Re: Baby shower ideas... (a lil drama)

my baby shower for DH's side of the family was a Sunday brunch at a non-fancy catering place. I think it was $14 pp. They had pancakes, eggs, bagels, etc... It was like 10:30-1:00 pm. Great way to save money & it doesn't ruin the whole day. Explore this as an option.

OR have it at your house & serve that kind of food to save $. Bake a strata or 2 (like a quiche - i have a recipe if you need), get some bagels & coffee, etc. Its a lot cheaper than lunch type food and you don't have to pay for liquor b/c most ppl don't drink on Sunday mornings....

I am currently planning my SIL's shower too. FM me if you need ideas.
