Random question because our board needs it

Do you think you'd want to renew your vows? If so, would you make it like your wedding? Where would you do it?

We went to a wedding last year that was PERFECT for us!! We said when we win the lottery (which we should start playing), that we'd renew our vows there. The rooftop overlooks Shea stadium. (Although I know Shea won't be there after this year. But the new stadium would be.) If we can't afford that, then I'm not so sure we'd so it. Weird huh?

Re: Random question because our board needs it

While we were on our HM we decided that we'd go back for our 10-year anniversary and renew our vows. Who knows if it'll actually happen, but it's a nice thought!!

ETA: My grandparents renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary and they basically had a wedding reception afterwards since they didn't have a big wedding in 1947. It was really nice to celebrate that with them since obviously us grandkids and their children weren't there the first time!!

Re: Random question because our board needs it

We'd probably do it on a major anniversary like 25th or 50th. I'm not sure where or how we'd celebrate it though.

My uncle and aunt celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year, and they renewed their vows in the same church they originally got married in 50 years ago. It was a beautiful ceremony and their was a reception afterwards.

Yes, I would want to but I am not sure when or where or whether we would have a large celebration.

Re: Random question because our board needs it

I do want to renew my vows. But after I'm done having children and we have a certain yr, 25, 30, etc... I honestly would just want my children to witness it. Maybe a handful of Immediate family. So my hope is, that we could do a very small ceremony, to renew our vows at Stonehenge. I would want my children to see it. Even if we can't afford it, I would want to renew my vows at the replica they made for tourist. I'm fine with that!

Re: Random question because our board needs it

no, I never plan on doing this, I actually don't believe in it. We took our vows on our wedding day and they are good til death do us part ( as they say)!

Re: Random question because our board needs it

JanuaryBride and I are on the same page.

DH and I keep saying that we will renew our vows on our 5th anniversary. We will do it in a cheesy chapel in Vegas and have an Elvis impersonator perform the ceremony.

Re: Random question because our board needs it

We will more than likely do it on an island somewhere and it will more than likely be just the two of us alone.
