Re: Mother of the bride...
Hi, don't be upset. Brides are very tempermental. I would continue reading but not tell her that you are and when she is ready to tell you she will. I would have the monthly list of things that have to get done and send it to her or give it to her and if she hasn't done the things towards the end of the month then I would talk to her about when she plans on doing this or that. The nicest girls turn into bridzillas. Don't take it personally. I go on here and answer questions when the girls ask questions. I did that when my daughter was planning and now even though she is married. The other moms are great. So just step back a little when it comes to directly addressing things you read on here and everything will work out fine. Hope to see you on here again. Susan

Re: Mother of the bride...
Welcome mom.......like you said we didn't have this stuff when we got married. Hopefully you will work out the differences. I think alot of girls resent their moms on the site too...maybe they just want the privacy. I am on more than my daughter, she really has no time to be one too often. I don't have any answer or advice, I just hope you enjoy the planning....don't stop trying...Kathy

Re: Mother of the bride...
Sweetie, welcome!!!! I'm sorry things are rough. My Daughter, Debi, was just saying tonight how planning a wedding is like a job!!! And basically, she already has a job, so that's two jobs! I know it's very stressful for her! I'm sure I have no clue what it feels like for Deb, because my 1972 wedding was about as simple as one could get!!I pray that things will get smoother for you and your Daughter!!
Blessings on both of you!! Mary

Re: Mother of the bride...
Welcome! First of all, congratulations on your daughter's engagement. Sorry to hear about the problems with your reading the site. It's funny you should mention this because I posted a topic about this just a few days ago (moms on LIW). Luckily my daughter has no problem with me reading and posting here. It's odd that your daughter feels this way as you said that she is the one who gave you the information about LIW. I think most girls are happy that their families are involved as long as we remember that it is their wedding, not ours. Since you are paying for some of the wedding (you said you were putting down the deposit), it should be expected that you would be involved to a degree in the planning.
I hope things work out and we're glad to be here to listen!
-Kathy

Re: Mother of the bride...
Thank you for responding to my post. I appreciate it immensily.I certainly do things work out between my daughter and I. She is my only child and only wish her and FH the best of luck.
Basically she is a good person with her head on her shoulders with a good job and returning back to school to become a nurse.
She and FH should have whatever they want out of life.
Thanks again!! Lynn

Good morning, Lynn!!!! Thanks!! Debi said last night, she can't wait 'til it's over! To be sure because she can relax then. We went shopping for shower centerpiece stuff last night. Didn't know rubberized fake coral was so expensive!! Then, we discovered the taller coral wouldn't fit into the glass container, so I said, Fred can have them for his aquarium, to which Debi told me, he wouldn't want them, because they're not 'natural'!!!! I have so much to learn about Fred!! I knew he was into a very healthy diet, absolutely no sugar, but I didn't know his fish were the same way.
