south beach diet??? x-post 08
After losing over 50 lbs on weight watchers, my weight loss has stalled and i would still like to keep losing weight. Being that i've done everything my ww leader suggested, i think my body is just used to weight watchers. I've decided to incorporate south beach into weight watchers. I am following the south beach diet, however i am pointing everything i eat so i know that i'm not over eating. Hopefully this works cause i am tired of getting discouraged. Is anyone else doing south beach or has anyone else done south beach who can give me some pointers??? TIA

South Beach is very similar to the Core plan in WW. It's a little more protien oriented than Core is though.
Wish you the best of luck...it's tough to plateau 50lbs is nothing to sneeze at though...so Congrats on your accomplishment

Ty!! It is just a little more restrictive than core. You cant have ketchup, or any type of carbs such as even brown rice, potatoes, certain cereals, etc that you can have on core. I need to rid myself of carbs cause even when i do reduce them, i feel i eat more than my body needs.

I found I lost most of my weight on phase 1 on southbeach...then I just leveled out. Overall I love the diet because you are free to eat alot of food and you get filled up!
Right now I am doing a high protein weight watchers to maintain my weight. In other words I am trying a Soutbeach version. I make Quiche Cups or egg whites for breakfast, low fat string cheese for snack, soutbeach lunchables for lunch, low carb yogurt for snack, dinner is usually veggie and protein, dessert is sugar free fudge pop. I stopped eating peanuts...they are addiciting! I was eating them for about 6 months and was fine but decided to try cutting them out for now.
Also do you excercise? I find running works best for weight loss and body toning. I also do spin and weight lift but lately I am trying to run 2-3 times per week....each time I run 2-3 miles. It may be hard to work up to this if you arent used to running but you'd be surprised how easy it is! I really recommend it! I get into the best shape by running!

I did South Beach, I think the most important things are:
**drink tons of water **b/w meal snacks (like 15 almonds, a string cheese) will help you get through the day! **I always made extra protein (like an extra chicken cutlet) at dinner and then used that in my lunch--like salad with the chicken, or just some chicken and veggies, etc.
you can do it!!

Thanks for the awsm advice! i do workout 4-6 days a week. I mainly do the elliptical, jogging on the treadmill and weight training. I run outdoors in nice weather. I hate running on the treadmill and depending on the weather, i usually run outdoors (i have a lung condition so the weather has to be ideal for me to run). I will try to incorporate more runs into my workout! Awsm advice!!
