Alice Sebold's Lucky

Has anyone read this book?

When i am done with lovely bones i am thinking of reading this one if there is time before the next book..

Michele lent me her copy of this book. It was interesting but IMO not a great work. The main character is far too detached for it to be 'real' to me.

I've heard that it's pretty intense ... not sure if I could stomach it ... and my friend didn't recommend it! So, I don't know if I will be picking that book up anytime soon!

I am glad I read it and I think knowing that it is her life story makes it powerful, but it is nothing like the Lovely Bones. It is about her rape in college and how she is changed and her family is changed because of it. Again, very different from The Lovely Bones and it is a true story.

I agree with Michelle. I'm glad that I read it, but it was very different than Lovely Bones. It is intense and I think that because it is her story, it makes it even more intense. It was a quick read just like Lovely Bones!
