Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

OK...so my hubby & I go to Disneyworld like 5 times a year (yes..we are VERY VERY cool! haha!)

for some reason we love it there, there is so much to do, its like a second home to us.

for our honeymoon in november we couldnt go away on a 'real' honeymoon bc of my job, so we went away to disney to a $$$ hotel for 5 days...

we figured on going to st lucia (sandals) this july. then i recently changed my mind, cancelled my reservation and found a saucy place in mexico that looked fun!

but the more i keeo thinking about it, the more i just wanna go back to disney, even though we;ve been there 500 times. even if we went on this sick trip to mexico, as the trip came up, i know all i would think was 'ohhh mannn, i wish we were going to disney!'

everyone always gives us crap bc we go there so much. but its where we like to go.

right now we are considering going back to disney again in the summer, staying in a nice hotel, living it up, etc.

am i totally insane for wanting to go someplace ive been 4559687458967 times?

everyone keps telling me 'your honeymoon should be special!' but truthfully, disney is REALLY special to us.

i dont want to go on a trip i 'kinda' want to go on just bc the typical honeymoon trip is suposed to be somewhere crazy & exotic. but at the same time, i dont want to look back and regret going to disney for the countless time??

ur thoughts???? be honest please, I'm so confused!!!

(PS...I've even considered going to disney & lying to people & telling them we r going somewhere tropical...just so i dont have to hear their crap! haha!)

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

you have to go somewhere YOU want to go! Who cares if it's somewehre you've been to before...if you love it, go back!

it has to be special to you...not everyone else's idea of what could be with a new location.

Sounds like you'll have great memories going back to Disney....do it!

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

You ARE so funny!
You don't have to lie....

On one side of the coin...if you never go to a new place...you will not know if you would look forward to this place as much as a trip to Disney.

BUUUUUUTTTTT....on the other hand, if you love Disney so much, don't dread going to another vacation....that's just terrible! Mexico is REALLY different from Disney.

How 'bout Disney in California? This'll be different, maybe even exciting. You can also see the sights around there....and then you can catch a flight to Cabo.

OR...you can do Disney in a way you've never done it before...stay at one of their Luxe hotels & do things you would have never done....

OR you can do a Disney cruise too!

Either way...our eccentricities are what make us special!

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

I like the Disney in cali deal. maybe you can go all out for this Disney vacation? Make it more special like try to make the reservattions for the things that are crazy hard to get that you migth have always wnated to do and did not? Stay in one of the resorts at the World of several! I don't know what you have seen or done, but if you want to go to Disney GO and ignore anyone's complaints. YOU GUYS are the ones paying, so do what you like.

I would go ALL OUT though since it is a HM. Maybe try other places in FL too? I always liked Universal Studios alot.

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

You definitely are not crazy! I love Disney too!! (So I'm just as cool as you )

I do think you should try out different places while you can.....maybe since you love disney so much...go to Disney in California?

If you both love it.....then do what you want to do and love!! Stay at an awesome resort and have a blast!!

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

i looked at the cali resort...i've always heard its smaller though.

i;m so torn...i think it would be fun to try somepleace new but at the same time, we love disney so much, i'd love to go back & 'live it up' (we would stay in a fancy schmancy hotel, one we dont normally stay in!)

i dont know what to dooooo...i'm so dumb

and my husband is the most indecisive person in the universe (apparently there IS someone mroe indecisive than me! haha!) so he keeps saying 'i want to do whatever you want to do!' haha

oh boyyyyyyyyyyy......

You are definetly not crazy!!! You & your DH should go somewhere that is special to the both of you, who cares what other people think. Like a previous post said, why not go on a Disney Cruise. Friends of ours went on one for their honeymoon and they had a great time.

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

okay well i see pros & cons to both. First, you need to go where YOU want to go...so dont give a crap about what other people think or say lol. screw them...it's not their life - its YOURS!! If disney is special to you, then go! i WILL say, that there is a lot of this big old world to see....so you should try to travel & see more because u just may find other places that take your breath away....i'm not even saying u need to go somewhere 'tropical & exotic' - just go somewhere cool where u can experience stuff. If u wanna live it up at disney because it's special to you & it'll mean something for ur 'honeymoon' then by all means go! But make a promise & a vow that ur next vacations WILL be somewhere different...just for the experience of it all I also agree that the cali. disney might be a good idea because u can venture out around california & do some other stuff....BUT if u know urself and think u're just gonna stay in Disney the whole time, then of course don't bother because the florida one IS bigger....what about really making a trip and doing Tokyo Disney???? just an idea??? Or maybe even going to a Sandals for like 4 days and then finishing up the trip with Disney??? (u will LOVE the all-inclusive!! it's amazing to not have to worry about a penny!) Again, if u wanna go there for a honeymoon trip 'cause it's a sentimental place for the two of u - then GO! but set out for some new & exciting places in the future!

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

Hmmmm......tough one. I think you should go wherever you want BUT.... maybe consider somewhere a little more... secluded/romantic/coupley (is that a word?)

Here's my reasoning - if you are planning on having kids, you are going to go to Disney 1000 more times. And grandkids... yep - they want to go to Disney too.

Maybe go to a kid-free place? They'll be plenty of time for Disney later.

WAIT - how about the Disney resort in PARIS???? Paris is as romantic as it gets!!! And you can get your Disney fix.

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

well... i do understand it is special to you and obviously you guys need to go where you WANT!

BUT! on the other side of it, i think you'll miss out on soooo much if you dont experience more places. you really dont know until you've been there, so even though you might not be excited to go, you will probably end up loving every last minute of it.

we went to Cabo for the 1st week of our HM and honestly I wasnt TOO siked... now i PINE over it alllllll day long, it was PHENOMINAL! so you really never know until you try it.

go with your gut, but imo- i say do mexicooooo!

My thoughts exactly. You'll definitely be going back to Disney in the future. Check out something else just for a change b/c there is so much to see in this world.

You remind me of DH. He thinks the only way to vacation is on a cruise. Cruises are fun...to an extent. I refused to do a cruise for our HM and now he is finally getting that there is more to vacationing than cruising (although I can see the wheels in his mind trying to figure out how to incorporate a cruise into every vacation...LOL).

You never know...you just might love Mexico just as much. We went to Costa Rica for our HM and I pouted the entire engagement about it b/c it was not what I wanted. It was the best decision we made and we can't wait to go back. Try something new. That's my opinion!

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

DH and I went through the EXACT same problem, except we always go to Key West and not Disney. For our honeymoon we went to Sandals St Lucia and we had a PHENOMENAL time, seriously it was amazing. I do not regret going there one bit

BUT

on the way home, we talked about our favorite vacation and we BOTH picked Key West and said that we would b going back there to celebrate our anniversary.

So, I guess I am not much help LOL sorry but I know how you feel - its like you feel pressured to pick a 'honeymoony' place!!

your honeymoon is supposed to be a time for the two of u to bond and celebrate YOUR relationship.... so if your relationship includes a love for disney.... then don't waste your money on something else that you won't enjoy as much

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

I know a couple just like you guys. They vacationed in Disney as children (separately, of course) all the time. When they started dating, they went there for vacations. He proposed to her in Disney, they got married in Disney, and they still go back about 3 times a year. They looooooooove it there. I just saw a picture of their first child and he had on a Mickey Mouse shirt. So cute.

No, you are not crazy. Don't listen to other people,if there is one thing I have learned in this life it is that other people just tell you what's right for them, not necessarily what is right for you.

Re: Am I crazy????? (long post, sorry but i'm a mess!)

DH and I too are Disney fanatics and since we live 20 mins from Disneyworld we go a few times a month just too see whats up. So when it came time for honeymoon we looked at everything and he didn't want the all inclusive things. We were thinking of Atlantis but then he wanted to do California. So we went to Disneyland for 5 days.

We just didn't do Disneyland. We also went to Universal Hollywood, drove through Hollywood (which wasn't that impressive), shopped, and drove around just to see Southern California. You don't have to spend your whole time at the resort there are many things to do there outside of Anaheim. We wanted to do so much but we only had 5 days.

Good luck in what you choose. I also think the Paris one is one option.
