What is a healthy weight loss (by week)?
I was blatantly tooting my own horn and telling a woman that I work with about my 2.6 lb weight los this week
. THat makes 4.8 in 2 weeks. She is a WW lifetime member, hit goal and everything...and she told me that I should check w. my doctor to make sure that I am not losing too much in a short period of time. I have to lose 15-20 lbs. She recommended uping my points to slow the weight loss down to 1lb a week. Have any of you reviewed this w. your doctor?? I like losing weight, and dont see anything wrong w. the way I have been eating (more food more times a day than ever before), but I did get sick this week- want to make sure that I am not overdoing it.

I think no more than 2lbs per week is healthy

Generally, anytime you start a diet you lose 3-5# for the first two weeks and after that it tapers down to probably average 1-2# per week. Honestly, I think you are fine but if you are concerned then you see your doctor.

2 pounds a week is normal. But like it was said previously, anytime you begin a weight loss plan for the first few weeks your body is loosing all the water weight which can totally around 4-5 pounds a week

I like the 2 per week, I hope it doesnt decline
My friend said its b/c I work out, and therefore am burning points faster but I am not counting activity points yet (I think that comes in the 4th week). Like this week I banked 12 points, not including working out-but was saving them up for tonight

I agree with the above ladies. 1-2 lbs per week is healthy, anything more than that is usually water loss. However, you may lose more the first week or so, then it will slow down or you should eat more calories to slow down the weight loss.

I also agree! 1-2 lbs a week is healthy per ww. and the first 2 weeks you always lose more.

both my dr and a nutritionist both said that 1-2 lbs a week is the best (basically about 1% of you weight per week). I was told if you lose more than that a week that you have a 80% chance of putting it back on.Welcome New Vendors
