Question about getting knocked up!
so I already have baby fever i can not wait to get pregnant again!!! ( i had a miscarriage 3 years ago)one of my BM's is getting married in October 2009, and i know i'm going to be a bm for her. So if i get pregnant right away, i'll be 8 or 9 months pregnant for her wedding.. or i'll have justttt had the baby. (my mom always went early, so who knows if i will)
would it be wrong for me to try to get pregnant right away? should i wait knowing that her wedding is only 9 months after mine?

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
This is a really tough question, first off is the wedding OOT , meaning would you have to travel for it?If its local, then it shouldnt be a problem, you should never hold of TTC for anyone, but its nice that you are thinking about your friend since you are a BM,
You wouldnt want to drop out at the last minute and leave her hanging.

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
I dont see why not. One of my BMs pretty much told me straight out she'll either be preg or have just had the baby for my wedding.

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
That's a tough a question, but the honest truth, you shouldn't have to put your life on hold for your friend. I'm the same way, I can't wait to have a baby, so we aren't going to wait at all and my friend is planning on getting married about 5 months after me and I asked her if she would mind and she said not at all. If anything you could just bring it up in conversation and see how she reacts. I do have to say one thing, my friend was 8 months pregnant for her cousins wedding and she was the only girl in the bridal party, and even though she was 8 months pregnant with swollen ankles, she was there for the whole wedding, she just had to get really comfortable shoes, so I would wait on the shoes for the dress, cause you most likely won't be able to wear anything too uncomfortable. But I am the same way, I can't wait to get pregnant, we even talked about a little before action -LOL.

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
i think it depends....money, work, etc...i know that for fh and i, while we adore our niece and nephew, are DEFINITELY going to enjoy the newlywed phase and won't start TTC until our 2nd or 3rd anniversary, but you never know if we get the itch early
if it were me, i probably would not want to be pregnant for my friend's wedding...i'd wanna be looking sexy and not preggo and tired...plus i wouldn't want my friend to b!tch or anything...so i would personally wait.
but to each their own

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
If you get pregnant right away then the bride will have to deal with it. they do have materity(spelling) bm dresses so its not like you have not be in the wedding party.

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
they have pretty maternity dresses - i think its totally your call - you shouldnt wait b/c of a wedding - i know my MOH is trying - and might be preggo for my wedding - but i dont mind

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
One of my best friends and BMs told me she was going to try and get prego this August-Um she'll be due on like my wedding day!!I was bummed at first but that is only because she can be the life of the party when she is happy or try and make people miserable with her when she feels bad.
I got over it quick. I had planned to get my girls dresses from JCrew but now I am going to go the more traditional route in case she has to get a maternity version.
As much as I want her drinking and dancing the night away, I would be so happy for her to have a baby!!!

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
I don't see why not... It shouldn't be a problem whether or not you are prego! She asked you to be a bridesmaid because she loves and values your friendship! I'm sure that she would be happy for you!!

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
Well, my sister is in the same predicament as you. She wants to have another baby within a year. But when I announced my date, she planned to wait because she wants to enjoy my wedding, have some drinks, and look hot as a BM. It's totally your call. If you can deal with being a BM and not drinking at a wedding then go for it!

I say its your call. if you feel like you cant wait then go ahead. you never know you might not get pregnant for a few months anyway and it wont happen right away

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
I wouldn't put your life on hold for a friends wedding. She will understand if you are pregnant at the time or have just had the baby. She really can't get mad at you. My MOH said she was going to wait to start trying until after my wedding and I told her she is crazy for doing that, I would be so happy for her if she was pregnant!!

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
honestly---i don't see the question here at all....if you want a baby asap----go for it!!! i know you want to be a BM and all---but IMO i would think that your life choices trump a wedding. she should be happy for you if you get preggo right away--or are pregnant for her wedding.life is short--get married, make a baby....and enjoy it!

Re: Question about getting knocked up!
I think if you are worried about your chances for getting prego then I would start.... you never know what will happen. I am sure your friend will understand if you were prego for her wedding... as long as you are comfy putting on a dress when you either just had the baby or are about to pop then go for it.Welcome New Vendors
