Poll for past brides regarding flowers....

Did you have the stems of your Bo-K fully wrapped? Or only half way.

My florist wants to full wrap the stems so they dont stain my dress. Thoughts?

My stems were open. I got married in July and had all Gerbera daisy boquets. My dress did not get stained. The nice thing with my bouquet is that for the reception they were placed in pretty gass square vases with water and my flowers lasted 10 days!!

I think it depends on the flowers you use, some do secrete stuff!

I personally liked the look of it!

mine were fully wrapped... they said it was so the flowers could stay fresh longer since it was a summer wedding

I had them exposed only because I didn't like the fully wrapped look.

Also if they are sitting in water beforehand they will last longer imo- mine lasted literally all day without wilting.

Mine we wrapped all the way to the bottom but the bottom wasn't covered (i.e. if you turned it over you could see the stems).

NEver heard of that. Mine were exposed, I didn't even know this was a decision we had to make!

I didn't have mine fully wrapped (Personal preference- not a fan of them fully wrapped) and I didn't have any problems with staining at all.

my florist mentioned this, but said it's only a problem with certain flowers and not at all with others--what flowers are you having in your bo-k? I'm having all peony bo-ks for me and BMs and florist said no problem with those!

Mine was not fully wrapped-tho I wanted it to be. Either way...it didnt stain my dress and I had it laying on my dress and touching me thru out the start of the day

Mine were wrapped just about to the bottom, I think the stems were exposed just a little bit. I didn't have any problem with staining.

I had black magic roses, burgundy peonies and burgundy calla lillies in my bo-k, my stems were open at the bottom, I didn't have a spot on my dress. Everyone kept warning me, but there were no stains or spots from my bouquet.

Mine and the MOH were fully wrapped.

my bo-k was a cascade so i had the traditional handle underneath my flowers...sorry i'm of no help! lol....either way is beautiful though but i have to admit, i'd be nervous about open stems with my dress!
