Not religious myself, but wanted to share idea

My FMIL called me today and asked me to wear in my bouquet a very small copy of the bible that she has... She said that the florist can work it into the bouquet... She used the same for her wedding and FI's grandmother used the same bible for her wedding as well. Just a sweet touch--- She said to me 'you will be starting out your life with the words of G-d literally between you too and in your hands....The rest is up to you!' Mind you We are NOT religious at all but it is still a nice idea and tradition! Very touching!

I'm doing the same thing! I'm using my grandmothers prayer book. Every woman in my family has carried it. They tie it to the very top of your bouquet..very pretty and sweet.

It depends on how you want it. The book I have is about the size of a palm pilot. It will be tucked at the very top of my bouquet, behind the flowers above the handle. So it will really just peek out above the top of the flowers. It's also off-white so if I get a white bouquet it will probably blend a little.

My mother has asked FH if he would carry her and my father's wedding bands tied together with a ribbon in the pocket of his tuxedo. We will have the priest bless them before the ceremony - Daddy died in 1999 and they had a blissfully happy marriage and she wants some of that happy vibe to be with us as well....

At a friends wedding, the grooms father had passed away about two years earlier and the groom wrote a letter to his father the night before his wedding. He placed it in his lapel pocket for the whole ceremony. The letter to his father was close to his heart, where he believed his father was....

I did the same thing...and the florest tied it around a ribbon.. and no one saw it...
We also used Mitch's grandfathers Talit on the table with oour rings(which we got married in my grandparents)

That is such a nice idea, I am thinking of a way to tie in a pic of my parents (locket) for the boo-k!

omg what a wonderful idea i just was given my mothers bible from her childhood,mom passed away when i was seven dont have much memory or to many of her things what a wonderful idea i am definatley doing this i am so happt thank-you!
