Re: Jersey Shore??
I really liked the South of Jersey shore...Cape May. It's cute, has a beach & has great restaurants & stuff to do.

Re: Jersey Shore??
Cape May is cute .... lots of victorian homes/b&b's and beachy.
Seaside Heights is fun, has a carnival type feel on the boardwalk.
And, of course, there's Atlantic City ... shopping, casinos, shows, boardwalk, etc.

Re: Jersey Shore??
I have not spent more than a weekend there but I like Cape May too. Its a cute town with a nice beach and a cute downtown. pretty relaxing for a weekend. It's also pretty close to Atlantic City so you can do the casino thing as well.
My cousins love a place called Manasquan (???spelling) and another friend of mine loves Point Pleasant. I think those two towns are closer to LOng Island than Cape May or AC - but I don't know anything about them.
Anyway, hope you guys have a good time!

Re: Jersey Shore??
If you go to Atlantic City, stay at the Borgata. DH and I love love love that casino/hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the casino is soo nice, and they have great restaurants and a cool club. You'll definetly like it

Re: Jersey Shore??
We get a shorehouse every summer. Every town is different and has its own vibe. Seaside is very young....and very cheesy. Fun I guess, but cheesy. There's a huge boardwalk there and rides and carnival games and things like that. Wildwood is similar.
Then there's Point Pleasant. Quieter, more families, less crazy stuff, very quiet mostly....though they do have this one big club that everyone goes to at night, but I always thought it suucked, not much else to do at night.
Then there's LBI (Long Beach Island). It's probably the best mix of everything and up until this past summer where we always stayed. There's lots of families and it can be relaxed, and then there's also tons of young people and bars and restaurants and stuff. Lot of fun.
This past summer though was the first time we stayed at Cape May. It's the furthest south but I loved it. It's a very old town...not a typical jersey shore town filled with beach bungalows and shore houses. It's all old HUGE victorian homes, lots of antique shops and stores. Lots of great restaurants too. A good mix of people but mostly older people and families. It's now my new favorite, then again, I like to relax now when I go to the shore, I'm not so into the bar scene anymore, though there a couple at Cape May, just not huge clubs or anything, it's not that kind of scene....so it depends on what you like to do....this kind of stuff more appeals to me now so that's why I liked it there.

Re: Jersey Shore??
I used to go there with my gf's wayyy before DH. I remember having the best time the first year but the second year I remember seeing banners telling New Yorkers to stay in the Hamptons lol.
I could be wrong but from what I remember it was similar to Montauk in the sense that you most hotels are very beachy.

Re: Jersey Shore??
We've been going to the Jersey shore for about 25 years!! We love it there. We go to a small family town called Sea Isle City- to be honest, we sit on the beach all day, then have a late dinner and drink. It's a lot of fun for us! There are some other towns with more night life - even though Sea Isle does have some bars, they aren't always bumping.
