agree. def. get a back up dress. try nordstrom.com as well. They have tons of dresses, shipping is usually quick and returns are easy just in case your dress come in on time.

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
This is going to sound bizarre and unbelievable but I ordered a satin strapless tea length dress last year from Target.com that was meant to be a bridesmaid dress and it was super cheap! Maybe check the Target website for something cute and inexpensive that you can ship immediately.

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
If your color scheme works with it, ask your BMs to prepare a back up black dress just in case -- they all probably own one and they just need a few days heads up notice to get it drycleaned and looking nice.

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
I would call them and tell them that you're wanting your BM dresses and that they need to find you something -it's their responsibility to have it in on time.If not I'd get the Better Business Bureau after them but you'd need to go to David's or a department store ASAP to find new dresses.

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
Oh no! I think going with a department store at this point might be your best bet. And seriously, at 17 days away I would be calling the woman once or twice a day and flipping out on her. If you don't ever get them demand refunds otherwise you'll sue or report her to the Better Business Bureau or both.

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
First off I just want to say I am sorry you are even going through this- as if you aren't stressed out enough! Second, definitely agree with the girls- tell your girls to go out and get back up dresses. Honestly at this point, I don't think you should even care about the color scheme you originally wanted- just in case the girls can't all find a dress in that color. If they do- then fantastic! I would resort to telling them get black dresses that look great on them and not even worry about the uniformity of it all. JMO. Just try to take a deep breath and tell that woman she better make good on all of this. if she can provide you with different dresses, great, but I would demand my money back for all the girls and report her to the BBB. Get seven on your side or Fox five to do a story on her and I am sure she will come around!! Good Luck!!!!!!

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
I would check out Davids Bridal as a last resort - or you can check out Estelles in Farmingdale - they have alot of stuff off of the rack and loads of colors - I would give that woman a major problem that she could not deliver the product that you paid for - but in retrospect it will be one small issue that you have to overcome to marry your best friend. so smile
it will be alright

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
I have to tell you.....This is very possible.....My WEDDING dress just came in 11 days before my wedding.....It was stuck in customs at JFK airport for 1 week!!!! I was a mess.....I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, I was nasty to everyone......I just let God take it and I finally got my dress and it's beautiful!!!
When did they say it arrived in customs?
They have 3 full days to hold the box....Then they must release it.....
So I will give you a piece of advice....Hang in there and take a deep breath and pray.....It will all work out!!!
FM me if you need to talk...

Re: Wedding day 17 days away no bridesmaid dresses
go to Jessica McClintock, BCBG, even Macy's in Herald Square, you will be better off finding dresses for everyone there they have a huge selection of evening gowns. How many BMs do you have?
And definitely report them, I used to work for an importer, tell the dress people that it's ******** that something is held up in customs, tell her to fax them the damn invoice, that's all they need to release the dresses!!!! If they're a legitimate store then there shouldnt be a problem clearing customs on their purchases coming from overseas.
You are super calm, i would be freaking out, I'm actually freaking out for you. Good Luck with this!
