Re: Hawaii
Check the cruise lines...not sure if you are into cruising - and then maybe spend a couple of nights on one island once the cruise is over.

Re: Hawaii
We want Hawaii too...we checked a couple of TA and the flights are very expensive right now. I'm not sure what we will be doing. One thing my friend told me who is a TA ,is to book your own flights because the TAs charge a $25 surcharge per ticket as their commission. I'll let you know if I hear anything else...this weekend we're going to check out AAA and see if they can get us a better package.

Re: Hawaii
We're in the process of getting ready to book our HM to Hawaii. FH's cousin works for Amex and somehow does something with booking trips so we're going through her. No matter what, Hawaii is pretty pricey, but I expected that and have been saving for it.
If you really want to save money, do the cruise. Norwegian Cruise Line does a 7 day cruise around a bunch of the islands. So like someone said, you can do the 7 day cruise, but also maybe do a few other days on one of the islands separate from the cruise - in order to make your trip longer and more enjoyable. I'd say maybe spend more time in Maui because that's supposed to be the most fun.
If you do want to do the flying to the different islands, maybe look into if you can get a deal if you book with the same hotel chain on all the islands you plan to stay at. Because they might be able to give you a discount then.
Also, I just picked up the Frommer's guide for Hawaii, and they usually have good info about saving money. Check it out for info.
