Spinoff (for info) Sex & the City GTG in NYC

Ok ladies-we'd discussed this a whiiiiiiile back but Kath brought it up (kns11) and I realized whoops! May is already in the first week lol and the movie comes out at the end. I am bringing it up and throwing out ideas out there, but if someone else wants to help plan, just jump right in because as far as NYC nightlife I am a total retard.

We need to decide a day. It comes out May 31, 2008 but thats opening weekend and I am personally always leery of big blockbuster weekends because its going to be INSANE and bars and clubs might be difficult to get into, being that its both a Saturday and opening weekends for whats supposed to be one of the biggest movies of the year. I have a very busy June unfortunately-weddings and milestone birthday parties the first two weekends in June then empty schedule after that. I'd liek to make it to this one but if a day is chosen I can't make it, I understand so please don't let that stop a decision.


It's up to a vote.

We would also need ideas for places for drinks or dinner that might be related to the movie like a cool bar for drinks or whatever.

I know NOTHING about the city as far as nightlife so I leave that aspect entirely to people more knowledgeable than me. Just throw idea out there.

Someone mentioned Sunday so June 8 is another possibility.

Patty suggested if its on a weekend to do it earleir in the afternoon to catch a matinee of the film and still have time afterwards to fget drinks or whatever.

I would have loved to go. Saturday May 31 is my brothers wedding. The weekends after are booked for dance recital season. It is just crazy busy around that time for us.

I understand ladies-We have a crazy June too which is why the weekends are out for me. I know weekdays are easier for girls working in NYC but I didnt wnat to close it off to anyone else who might want to come.

It might be hard though to watch the movie on a weeknight and go out to drinks.

I don't know-open to suggestions. We can always blow off the movie and just do a GTG later?

Movie theater and drinks afterwards really depends where the transportation is for everyone...since I live in NYC...it is no problem for me where we go..however, since most of us live out NYC...I think the best bet would be to do everything on 42nd St...

Then again...we can ditch movie...and just do a GTG as Jenn suggested....

I will not be able to go on May 31 and June 1....all other days are open...

Last time I couldn't attend because I was feeling well..I hope I can get the chance to meet up with you ladies this time...

The wknd of May 30, we're throwing a 35th bday bash for DH in the hamptons... I plan on being highly intoxicated and relaxed all wknd.

I watched them with Jess while wedding planning and actually enjoyed it so I think I might try to get all the seasons to catch up, but no way I can catch up by the end of the month

Ive been to a few *trendy* restaurants that would be perfect for a girl's night but theyre not midtown.. How far is everyone willing to go?

I have seen two seasons tops lol so honestly we can ahve a SATC 'imspired' night out (beign sexy in the city )because if its during the week I dont see being able to do the movie and drinks. Just not enough time on a Thursday night.

As far as the whole travel thing, I can go wherever-I have a metro card. As logn as subways run that way I am good. If its really way downtown I'd have to elave early is all to avoid my crazy bus schedule.

I dont know about everyone else. Just throw the ideas out there and we can hash em over.
