I haven't seen Flowerfield so I cannot give my opinion on them but when I walked into the Crescent Beach Club, I fell in love!! I love the view. I eat at the restaurant often and the food is always amazing.

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

I've went to both...loved them both-beautiful places!!!!
One thing I wasn't crazy about at the Crescent is that they don't have food tastings(food is very important to me and FH!!!!!!!!!!), and I wasn't sure what it would be like inside if it rained. Flowerfield has food tastings (I went to the one at my RH Land's End - they are the same caterers, Lovin Oven- and it was awesome...). Flowerfield's is also really nice inside and out. JMO...HTH!!!!!!!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

I had the SAME dilemma.... I eventually picked Flowerfield because of a few reasons... Here are my reasons

FF is closer to everything, I really felt that after a night of partying and drinking the CBC was just too far away from the major hotels and the LIE (for the people who want to go home after the wedding)
I didn't like how the 'bars' at the CBC were not in the room and that they were not built into the motif, they are basically roll aways. I was worried the guests would all hang out by the bars in the loby.
I did love the fact that CBC has a stage for the band though, which FF does not.
I was a not a fan of CBC having a restaurant in it either. It might not be a big deal to some, but it was for me. I wanted my guests to be the only guest in the place... ha ha I'm such a diva. lol
I was also a little more impressed with FF's menu, but both menu's were great. I didn't try the food at CBC though, only at FF.
NOW my major reason for picking FF was this: the reason I LOVED the CBC was the outside cocktail hour on the beach, that was gorgeous! I thought about it and God for bid it rained I would not have the cocktail hour that I wanted and my whole reason for picking the CBC would be out the window! At FF, it really doesn't matter if it rains.. the cocktail hour room is still so beautiful.
Well, thats my book, take it or leave it, I just figured I would try to help because I had the SAME EXACT dilemma!
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

Thanks everyone
We really like the whole feel of Flowerfield..very different. I wasn't crazy how the room was set up at The Cresent. I liked the whole beach feel..just felt the main room was set up where everyones backs faced the water. Just my opinion

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

I also had the same dilema. I was completely stuck between flowerfields and crescent beach club. For me it came down to the fact that I didn't want to be disappointed by anything. If it rains on the day of my wedding and I was at the crescent, I would have been disappointed. The outside is INCREDIBLE!!!!! However, I only thought the oinside for the coctail hour and ceremony was ok. I LOVED everything at flowerfields and would be ok having the ceremony and coctail hour inside or outside. Needless to say I chose flowerfields. My wedding is in 2 months and they have been very helpful every step of the way!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

For me it was down to the Crescent and Land's End and like a lot of girls here, I didn't go w/the Crescent because I felt I would be disappointed if it rained. Land's End is also on the beach, but I felt their indoor accommodations were much nicer in the event of rain. I hope none of the Crescent brides take offense, I can completely see how one would pick Crescent - it was a very close call.

And, now that I've booked w/Land's End, I can say their food is outstanding. They are the same owners as Flowerfields, so you really wouldn't go wrong at ALL if you booked Flowerfields for the food.

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

Flowerfields was my first choice, but the price really wasn't in the budget unfortunately. I went to a wedding there in November and it was the best wedding I have ever been too. The food, service, atmosphere was just amazing!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

Thanks girls! I agree with everyones responses. FI and I thought about out the 'what if it rains' also. We really loved Flowerfield, just have to see price wise what we can afford. We were quoted 190 for a Sat. night the end of September..and that wasn't any extras.

I'm biased obviously
My wedding at the Crescent and it was amazing.
When I walked into my ballroom it literally took my breath away...
The scenery can't be beat and the food and service was outstanding!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

would you consider a friday night? It is not THAT much cheaper but there definitely is a difference. We wanted a Sat night too but I WAS NOT spending $190 a head with 275 ppl coming! lol
FM me if you have any questions.

Well, I'm also biased but we fell in love with Crescent the moment we walked in!

We knew we were taking a chance on the weather... but we figured July was pretty safe. We LOVED our wedding there! I have a ton of pictures and info in my review if you want to check it out

Here's a few teasers

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

Hey I looked at both of these as well and I think that Flowerfield offers more for your money (as far as menus are concerned.) Also the whole rain thing got us too and we decided a beach wedding wasnt important afterall.

Also I did love cresecent beach club but didnt feel a wow factor when I first walked in the hall. I also didnt like the 3 different floors thing. Thats just me. Dont get me wrong, we still loved it tho. The outside definitely does have a wow factor!

As for Flowerfield....I went to a wedding there had the wow factor when I walked into the cocktail room...all the plants and trees were so pretty! Some people dont like the ceiling/atrium in that cocktail room but I didnt mind it. The food was very good! Lobster crepe...yumm! HTH!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

I looked at SO many places. I liked Flowerfield and Lands End A LOT, but when I saw Crescent I was BLOWN AWAY. No other place blew me away like that. My fiance is an architect and the building itself is very important to him. The CBC's architecture is like nothing we've ever seen on Long Island. We're not into the big columns or the gaudy chandeleirs or anything gold anywhere! So this was just perfect for us. Yea its a little pricy, but that's why we're having the wedding on a Friday. Also I didn;t know about the food tasting until recently. It *****- every other place does a tasting and you would think when you're paying THAT much money they would let you tast e the EFFING food! That really bothered me too. But it is what it is I guess. If only they knew that they are losing money b/c people are using that as a reason not to book their wedding there. (I HOPE THEY'RE READING THIS TOO!) But Denise the catering manager is SO nice and accommodating. She said we can go there while a wedding is going on and get to taste their hou'rderves (sp?)

Anyway I LOVE the Crescent and the cocktail hour on teh beach SEALS THE DEAL for me. I think the reception room is GORGEOUS. It's simple and I like that and there is a balcony overlooking the beach.

I cant WAIT for my wedding!!!

Re: Cresent Beach Club or Flowerfield

both places are beatuiful.. go with your gut..

DH and i looked at over 15 RH here and mind you in italy too!! so it all comes down to what you want your day to look like.. we wanted the beach and being married on the sand and not having your typical wedding with a reception room with no windows , huge chandelliers and so on.. Thats what we were looking for and the Crescent had it.. Yes, it is pricey but you pay for the view and the good food and service..
We did a family brunch there to test out the food, not that I had any doubts.. So if you are worried about the food and the amount - their presentaiton is nice and there was plenty.

If I were you, revisit both places and see which one you can see yourselves the day off..

Good luck!
