What was the funniest or surprising moment at your wedding?

Mine was about an food fight incident that happened when i was way little at thanksgiving and it included mashed potatoes.

Well my cousin, who i got in the fight with, surprised me and mortified the family as he came out on the dance floor and took a plate of mash potatoes and was going to throw it at me. He then changed his mind and gave it to me to throw so i was about to but then took a fork and flinged it and he did the same. Needless to say our faces were covered in mashed potatoes.

our wedding was a pretty calm event but one funny moment at very crucail time was at church exchanging vows when I was slipping ring on DH finger and it was getting harder and harder to slip past the knuckles. One good grimace and push voila! done. pastor caught the look on my face - - sorry the photog wason opposite side but pastor told me to remember if it was hard to slip on it will be even harder to get off. and smiled broadly - - that pic we got.

Surprising:

When the best man (DH brother) gave his speech his wife, and two sisters were offended. He basically was poking fun at how in the world Scott was able to date, let alone marry a cute girl like me. It was said in jest. Neither Scott nor I had a problem and were actually surprised when we heard others were offended.

His wife & then two sisters decided to tear into his brother who then decides to give it right back. All of this happening at their table. After many f bombs and such were issued the argument goes from the reception to the front of the enterance of JT's lobby. The words they casually threw around mortified Scott & I. We both worried his sisters would pull something stupid but NEVER imagined it would occur where the other brides and grooms could see/hear. Thankfully our BM & DOC helped in breaking it up. The thing is, It wasn't even there fight to fight which to this day make us . It was all so sad and pathetic!

When we went to take pics down at the beach, there was a guy in a blue speedo...he was so gross. we had to walk pretty far to make sure he wasn't in any shots.

We were totally surprised by our bridal party! When we lined up in the lobby to enter the reception the staff at the NRC was helping our BM get on stilts and handing out all of their props to the BP. We were kept totally in the dark about it until they lined up, the BM was on stilts, my cousin was in a shopping cart, BM's on shoulders...it looked like a circus act. We still have no idea where they managed to get a shopping cart or stilts from....it was very memorable

My DH's Uncle has a toupee (sp?) and he stuck the glowing necklace through it! OMG it was priceless!

For us it was learning about things the day after. We got pic sent to us on our phone from our friends and other guests with our friend running about the Hotel naked b/c he was soo drunk
He didn't even have a room there or a place to stay. He somehow was dropped off to the Hotel with the other guests in a cab. Thankfully some of our friends took him in.


Needless to say his GF was pist She couldn't come to our wedding and was at Jury duty and learned about it the next day! He was in the Dog house up until last month I think b/c now they are broken up

it was afterwards at the hotel... a bunch of people came to the hotel to drink and hang out with us. My friend who played the bagpipes at the church and piped us in to the reception hall left my wedding a bit early because he had a paying wedding gig at the Chateau briand. he then got two more pipers and two drummers and they piped INTO the lobby at the Wingate inn! IT WAS AWESOME! management didn't like it and only let them play one song!

watching the wedding video--and seeing DH cut in on a dance w/ me and my father....to dance w / my dad!!!! It was hysterical- it was a fast song, and he starts to joke around and "bump and grind" w/ my dad....soooo out of character for DH, my dad's expression is priceless! I didn't even remember that happening!

Two funny moments come to mind. The first was when the DJ played Cotton Eyed Joe, the kids at the wedding were so excited because they made up a little dance routine for everyone. The second was seeing the dancefloor packed and jumping up and down when Jump Around by House of Pain was playing. Those are definetly two moments that I wish I had a video for.

When our best man gave his speech: He started off fine all smiles and stuff, then he got really nervous & kept saying Russ is a great guy, "3" times in a row, then he takes out a piece of paper saying his he and his wife wrote something very special about both of us, so he starts to read it, he reads only a line, gets really nervous again, crumbles it up and says Im not going to read this, I have it all in my head, he laughs, we are like wow, what the heck, then he says Russ is a great guy, yet again. You had to be there, he was telling us for over one year now how amazing his speech was going to be. He just became so overwhelmed and basically had an anxiety attack up there, we didnt know he had anxiety issues, but he does. I was very upset/mad at first, but felt so bad for him at the same time. It was really funny though, my husband and I just looked at each other with this look of amazement, and then burst out laughing. Everyone was laughing so hard, then the MC came over and took the microphone out of his hand and said something to break up the moment, good thing for the MC.

As the best man was handing over the wedding bands, he dropped mine.
The video captured the sound, the plink, plink, plink as it bounced on the floor, then rolled around.

During the reception, DH and his work buddies took a group photo shot. There were about 40 guys in this picture. It looked like so much fun that I decided to plop myself right in the middle of all the guys. Pics came out great.

My MIL going face first across the dance floor...it was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen in my life. She looked like she was going to take out the DJ booth and her front teeth It was ok, she got up and was hysterically laughing-ME I couldnt breathe

Surprising:

Just before we are about to start our ceremony, as DH & i are standing up there...he asked me for my e-ring...so i take it off & give it to him...he proceeds to stand up in front of everyone and say...

"I'm sure you've all heard the story from Kathryn of how I never actually proposed...i just put the ring on the table and said "so let's get married"...well to justify that here today in front of all of you..." then he turns to me.....starts CRYING (i never saw him cry in the 6 years we were together)...gets down on one knee and proposed to me.....it was such a sweet moment!

I am laughing in the first pic because i always joked "well you technically didn't ASK me to marry you....
