Question about hotel/oot guest info
HI.. I don't usually post on this board as I have been on the BHB board but since I'm getting married in about 5 months I've been lurking on here..I didn't do STD. I just did word of mouth b/c we didn't nail down the guest list until today (!). So now I have about 20 OOT guest (10 couples). Is it tacky to send them an email with the hotel information or should I print up something and mail it to their house...
any ideas?

Re: Question about hotel/oot guest info
Send it out with your invites. If you have that many OOTers, you should send your invites out a bit earlier. Most hotels hold their blocks for a month before the event so you should start researching the hotels now. HTH!

Re: Question about hotel/oot guest info
We did STDs exactly one year before our wedding because we had soo many OOTers, we acutaaly sent the hotel info with the STDs and still got calls asking if there was a hotel for people to stay at!!!We are sending our invites out on Tuesday and we will have the hotel direction card inserted in the invite.
If you send the invites out 8-10 weeks before your RSVP date, the OOTers should have plenty of time to book at the block rate. If they wait it's their own fault!

Re: Question about hotel/oot guest info
Keep in mind that some of your other guests who are not from OOT may opt to stay at the hotel too, especially if you are providing transportation. Many of our local guests stayed at the hotel!
And we just went to a family Bat Mitzvah that was only about 20 minutes from our house and stayed at the hotel to be closer to everything, and able to spend more time with people celebrating.
Get enough cards for all your guests, and include them with the invites.

Re: Question about hotel/oot guest info
We emailed and called our OOT guests because we just blocked out our rooms about a week and a half ago but we are going to send out the cards too, as a followup. We only have our rate until June 19 though...

Agreed. Send them to your OOT guests asap. We sent out our inviets to everyone the same time. We have about 60 OOT guests and the hotel has other weddings that booked rooms and ran out. Our guests have to wait till a month before the wedding to check to see if the other wedding guests didnt book the rooms blocked. I would send it right away!
