brides who have done a candy buffet

I love the idea, but I am worried about the cost. We are doing donation favors, so I thought it would be a good way for guests to leave with something. Do you mind me asking how much you spent on the candy, containers, scops, etc? I read on one website that you should have 10 lbs of candy in each container. It seems like that would add up quick! TIA!
