Re: Getting dressed???

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where the MOH stood on a ladder and dropped the dress over the brides head. What a picture that was!

Re: Getting dressed???

Not sure about this! I guess I could step into it, although whenever I wanted to do that at the salon, they ALWAYS made me put it over my head! I think to play it safe, I will be stepping into it! Provided of course I can make it over my butt!

Re: Getting dressed???

I'll probably step into it. If you have a big crinoline, you may want to step into the dress, then put the slip on afterwards. You'll need someone to crawl under the dress to close the slip, but I've done this for a couple of my friends when I was a BM.

Re: Getting dressed???

depending on the style of your dress you usually step into the dress and it is pulled up. The veil is put on after the dress is on. When my friend got married she had a dress that she had to put on over her head, I used the old trick my Mom taught me..we placed a handkerchief over her hair and face and she held her hands straight in the air. Her hair and makeup didn't get messed up and she didn't get any make up on the dress--pretty cool trick from the old school.

Re: Getting dressed???

I also stepped into my dress, not sure if you can do that with your type of dress.
If not, take your time. Have someone hold your headpiece, and carefully pull the dress over your head. Make sure you dont smear your make-up.

Re: Getting dressed???

You don't put the dress over your head!!!!!

you put the crinoline on the floor...put the dress over the crinoline, step into both at once...

any other way and your hair will be a mess and your makeup all over the bottom of your gown!

Re: Getting dressed???

I stepped into mine also and put the slip on afterwards. I had my veil on already b/c my hairstylist put it on for me and there was no way that dress was going to make it over my hair and veil.

Re: Getting dressed???

I stepped into mine. But the zipper/openning is pretty long so if you are careful and with help should be able to put the gown over your head.
