5/26/08 French Polynesian Honeymoon Review (Moorea and Bora Bora)
We booked our honeymoon through Travel Tom to the French Polynesian!! We stayed in Moorea for 5 nights and Bora Bora for 4 nights. It was absolutely amazing, and we would love to go back.

Our first morning in Moorea, we woke up at 5:30am and couldn't get back to sleep so we stayed up and watched the sunrise! Check out the pic I took!

Moana Lagoon & Motu Beach Picnic Tour, Marama Tours At Moorea Island
A wonderful day that offers a bit of everything - exploration,adventure, food, and relaxation! We fed sharks and rays. Next, we stopped on a motu
(islet) which surrounds the main islands and enjoyed a wonderful lunch with drinks. Here you see a great demonstration of coconut husking and see how to make the native dish - poisson cru or raw fish with coconut milk. Which I was the chosen one to make it and try it!!!

We rented a mo-ped and drove it around the entire island. It was so much fun. We saw amazing sites that we wouldnt have normally had a chance to see. We stopped all the time to go in the water.
Here are some pics we took on our trip around the island.
Unfortunately I burned my leg pretty bad on the muffler, here is a pic of it. I also had bug bites from the tiki village night. I didn't let either ruin my trip though. I didnt really have problems till my last day in Bora Bora when the blister broke and I started have bad pain. I went to the ER in NY when I got home, and they fixed me all up.
Our last night in Moorea was really relaxing. Our hotel throws a huge BBQ and tahitian show on the beach every Sat. So we made reservations. The BBQ was crazy! There was so much food and it was all sooo good!

Small plane took us from Moorea to Bora Bora.

Here was our over water bungalow.
Champagne was waiting for us!

We rented a free kayak and rowed to a motu to go snorkeling. It was like an underwater world! I forgot to put sunscreen on my back and I seriously fried! I was so careful the whole trip! Dont forget your sunblock!!!

I can't believe I did that!!! It blistered up pretty bad, and then DH accidentally popped it 4 days later in Bora Bora. I actually went to the ER when I got back to NY because I was losing circulation in my foot! They gave me a burn cream and it is getting better. It was a 2nd degree burn though! Who does that!

We just decided on our last day in Moorea to get it. You can tell the front desk and they will call them for you. I think we found it in a brochure we got at the airport. The guy will bring it to your hotel so you dont have to go to them! Totally worth it! Be careful on it though, dont get burned!

I dont know about her hotel, but I stayed at the Intercontinental Resort & Thalasso Spa and our floors were spotless. Its one of the newer resorts and it was 5 star! Clean, new, and had amazing service. They would make our beds like 2x a day and bring us fresh cookies every night and shut our shades if we were out in the evening, so no one could see us through all the windows when it got dark! I had a great experience.

CONGRATS and WOW.....looks like you enjoyed paradise just as much as I did. I have not been on LIW in forever....I slowly weened myself off a while after my wedding. Just came on to look for some pics for a friend who is getting married and saw your review...thanks for the shout out. So happy my review inspired you to go to Tahiti. It really was a trip of a lifetime and I feel so lucky that I was able to go there. Your pics are making me want to go back....your pictures are absolutely breathtaking!

Thank you! Actually your review helped me so much! I booked La Mahana, the top table like 7 months in advance! I would have never known, and they had the best food we have ever had!!
