YES !!!! almost there!!!!!!

Ok so my elation is that after a month of arguing with the CUNY system because of name changes, lost pin numbers, lack of finding me in one system but seeing me in another and other stuff all courtesy of your friendly neighborhood CUNY school system, I am FINALLLY on my way to being enrolled for the fall at John Jay to take the class that will make me a college graduate!!! barring any other wackiness, I will be enroleld on the 7th (my registration time) and then almost there!

Whats sick is I have to take math which I STINK at and Im sure when my elation passes I will be nauseous but Im determined dangit!

After this I have to take statistics but that is to complete my certification though Lehmans program (ANOTHER headache ) but then I am GONE!!!! NO MORE LEHMAN!!!! HELLO graduate school and teaching and living a much happier life.

I am walking on a cloud and plan to enjoy it until stress catches up and I experience my chronic 'stress-puke-migraine-acid reflux' combo.

I just needed to share.

Now, my question is - after this class at John Jay, you will have to take Statistics AT LEHMAN??? Or just take statistics at John Jay and they'll count it at Lehman so you can graduate?? It's all so complicated, right?

Ok, so depending on what math class you're taking, I might be able to help when the time comes. MIGHT being the operative word, lol! Just don't come to me for Statistics - I avoided that class in college

I am takign stupid basic college algebra

Ive taken it 3 times before and never passed. I get pretty much straight A's and B's with the rare C thrown in except for Math...in math I end up with D's...or less. I told you about my horrid 8th grade math teacher..silly but true and then again in junior jr of HS.

I CAN get it...someone I used to know who I lost contact tutored me for a few weeks and turned alot of the equations and forumlas into 'stories' for me and I picked it up quickly but Ive forgotten since then. Im going to hrie a professional tutor but anyone that has suggestions I am SO open to them. I MUST pass this class to begin ym grownup life.

I WILL pass dangit!

ETA: yea Im going to try to take statistics at John Jay too if they have the same equivalency. It all depends on the damn equivalencies. John Jay is a tier 3 like Lehman so they match but Hinters considered a tier one as is Baruch so their classes didnt match up. Its so confusing.

I feel for you about the math. I'm not sure how, but I made it through college without having to take 1 math class!!!

Statistics is not like other math- its all formulas and plu in in- i dont do too well in math classes (would explain why i went for literacy for my masters lol) but statistics somehow i passed with A's! Make sure you get a goof professor that helps A LOT!!!! (go to ratemyprofessor.com! )

JennJenn, I have a feeling you were meant to be a teacher...Im very excited for you! And proud...college is not easy, and I know all about jumping thru the red tape just to get damn registered!

And girl, I am with you 1000% with the Math thing. I hated every minute of it, it was my worst subject to date!

I did my undergrad at John Jay! Class of 1997. I loved it and have nothing but good things to say about that school.

They have a math lab there. I am sure they can help tutor you after classes. Good Luck!

They should start late august. I need to register first.
