Just call me The Dog Groomer, lol!

So DH & I have a mixed Terrier - she's 2 1/2 and we ADORE her.

She is one HAIRY doggie! And as a puppy she was almost all black (except for face and chest) but as she got older, she got more and more white hairs mixed in with her black so she looked gray! And it was SO long!!!! My parents and IL's were all telling us how FAT she had gotten, but we swore it was the hair. Also, strangers on the street always thought she was an OLLLD dog, and we'd be like, um no, she's 2!

Ok that said, I saw Kath's (HamptonsBride) post about having cut her dog's hair herself and I was inspired to try to give my doggie her first haircut myself. I bought a simple trimmer and used the longest setting and went at it. I made adjustments as needed and I CANNOT BELIEVE how good it came out (if I do say so myself ) She looks wayyyyy thinner and MUCH younger - most of the 'gray' is gone now! She's mostly black again. I am SO going to try to keep this up myself. She looks so good and everyone who has seen her in person says the same.

ETA: Here's a pic of the day she came home at 8 weeks so you can see how she used to look and compare to the new after haircut pics. SO FREAKIN CUTE!!!!

Don't they?!?! We call them her ponytails!!!! I didn't cut the hair there cuz we love them like that!

Yesi, you are REALLY GOOD at this, I'm too scared to do sophie's hair, even though she really needs it!!!

Come to think of it, I'm looking kinda fat and gray these days, can you bring your trimmer to the GTG...

OMG Colette, you crack me up!!! HELLLO you have the best reason in the world to look 'fat' - you're making a baby!!!

Ah, let me tell you, I was so scared of cutting her hair myself!!!! I don't know what got into me, but one day I was just like, ok let me try this. Definitely worth it!!!

Our terrier has 'grey' hair too...must be the breed...cause she's only about 3 from what we know...great job!
