Re: where are you honeymooning?

so far our plan is to go on a european cruise and stay in spain (or where ever the cruise leaves from) a few days either before or after the cruise - it depends on what day the cruise leaves.
- but thats in July.. idk if they do this in feb.

what about an all inclusive in aruba or anguilla or something like that?

Re: where are you honeymooning?

Buenos Aires is amazing, and our winter is their Summer. It is a very European City, a mixture between Spanish and Italian influences, and it is so unbelievably affordable, it's amazing. You can buy leather and fur for literally a small fraction of the prices here, all custom made.

I loved it and will definitely go back with my FH. Plus, you can go to tango shows, lessons, and literally dance in the streets . . . . it's a great city.

The bars are open all night, and even at 7 a.m., cabs are pulling up, they are PACKED with people, and the sun comes up on the party which is usually to American rock music.

Re: where are you honeymooning?

Pulled this off a website. Best places to visit in February:

USA

Florida
Arizona
Ski Resorts

TROPICAL DESTINATIONS

Caribbean
Mexico
Belize
Costa Rica
South America

ASIA/SOUTH PACIFIC

Maldives
New Zealand
Asia

Sure Things
Year-round, the weather's just about perfect in Hawaii.
Somewhere around the world, every month of the year, a cruise ship is sailing some place wonderful.
Beat the Crowds
If you're outfitted with a warm coat and an umbrella, you'll find most cities in Europe cool and uncrowded. Although it's too chilly to swim in the Mediterranean this time of year, it's plenty warm inside the shops, museums, and restaurants of France, Italy, and Great Britain. Be aware that it is prime time for ski areas in France, Italy, and Switzerland, though.
Not the Best Time to Visit
Despite its popularity as a honeymoon haven, Bermuda is no place to visit in the winter. It's cold and windy and there's not much to do until the weather is warm.

I would say out of all of them Costa Rica. Its very affordable and its exotic. They have beaches and rainforests.... so a good mix of tropical relaxation and exotic excursions/sightseeing!!

I am considering this too. Are there beaches nearby or relatively nearby?

TIA.

Re: where are you honeymooning?

We went to Excellence Punta Cana in the DR. It was December, and despite the late season tropical storm that skirted the north of the island on day 2, it was gorgeous out and we were in the pool practically every day.

Agree with the above poster who recommended South America. You may get a better rate than the Caribbean at that time of year.

That's a great idea! We're going to be going to Cancun within a month from the wedding, but we are dying to go to Ireland! I'll talk to FH about scheduling another HM within the same year hehe

Re: where are you honeymooning?

We have a two phase honeymoon, since phase 2 requires a lot of planning and money and right season.

Phase 1: Greeport, New York
We are staying the weekend a couple of days after our wedding to just soak the countrysdie all in before coming back to hectic city life. Its such a charming town.

Phase 2: St. Petersburg, Russia
We want to go in the Summer, and see the White Nights, but since we are getting married in Fall, we decided to wait till 2009.

We've both been to Europe and I'm not a beach person so the usual honeymoos where just not for us.
