Cocktail Hour Flowers

Ok... So I am a bit confused. I found my florist...got quotes on ALLLLL the boks, and everything else for the bridal party and partents... I went back 2 months later for centerpiece quotes... and now, I'm a bit confused. I saw a bunch of people getting flowers for the cocktail hour... Is this a must? How many should I get? I saw them at a few weddings I went to ... not on each table or anything... just a few big ones here and there... Should I do this? Help... b/c I'll need to let my florist klnow to add more then.... THANKS ladies!!

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

make sure you ask you RH if they put something on the CH tables. sometimes they put a single rose in a bud vase.. i dont think this is completely necessary - its only an hour. but i think if you want to do anything at all make it cheap and simple like a floating gerber in a bowl or a single rose in a vase. kwim?

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

I have seen rose petals with votive candle. So much cheaper. All you need is a bag of the silk rose petals in your colors and about 20 votives or so (1 on each table). Simple and like $30 for all of it. You can also move any flower arrangements you have from ceremony and put them in CH room if you like more decor. Going over the top is completely unnecessary though.

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

Definitely find out if your RH does something for the CH. I have been told that mine does. But in all honesty, it's only an hour and during this time people are usually too busy chatting it up to notice the flowers! I know I never took notice at any wedding I've ever been to

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

It is soooo not necessary!
There are enough things to worry about, this shouldn't be one more!

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

If your RH offers flowers for the CH, like I know JT does great. If not it's not necessary don't waste your money for only an hr event. People are going to remember reception cp only

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

My RH supplied them so I didnt need to get them thru the florist, truthfully its not necessary, just throw some rose petals or a votive on the tables. I wouldnt go tooo crazy since most CHs are bistro tables which dont exactly give you alot of room for an actual setup

Re: Cocktail Hour Flowers

I agree with the other brides...check with your RH and if they don't, rose petals or something simple should be more than enough...rose petals are usually free from your florist BTW...in all honesty I never noticed CH flowers at any weddings I've been to so don't stress it with everything else you have to do for your day!!
